So what is there to be said of the rest of the world that is going through the same thing? What about the specific causes of inflation and the policies of the federal reserve that has slowed down the rate of inflation in this country? At this point, inflation is arguably not 'soaring' but yes, real wages are down and things clearly cost more. We also need to consider that companies have often used the excuse of inflation to raise the prices of goods when there is no real reason to do so. OPEC is a prime example as they arbitrarily raise the prices of a barrel of oil which ripples down into prices increases as the gas pump. Ironically, per barrel prices of oil have hit some of the lowest in many years, but gas was still at all time highs. Wonder why that is? Corporate greed perhaps? If there is one thing we can all criticize this government on is their lack of interest in regulating these companies and have stronger consumer protections, as we see in Europe, for example. Of course, none of these things I imagine Mr. Samson knows enough about or has any interest in explaining in his raps.
