I am a brand new business, just launched in January....I only have 12 weekly clients so far but im confident and positive i can grow it......Regarding the last part of this video, i actually do PRE-PAY! Everyone gets billed on the first of the month for that upcoming month. I knw i am still very early but i have had zero push back on this way of billing and that way i am not stepping foot on to a property unless i am paid first.. :)

I was thinking the same. Because I don’t want to do all the work then they bail!

Great content; I subscribed. What are your thoughts on starting this business and letting the customer know I can only fit them into a Saturday or Sunday schedule? I would like to know if that is a problem because I want to start this while working my full-time job Mon-Fri.
@petwastemillionaire26 күн бұрын
Thank you so much! Limiting your clients to only Saturday or Sunday has a couple of potential downfalls. 1) It limits the amount of customers you can actually service (only having two days in which to scoop every house) and 2) A lot of people have the weekends off of work, which could give them the time and opportunity to pick up their own dog poop, creating a situation where they might not need the service. To start as a side hustle, absolutely give it a shot. When you get to a point where the weekends are completely booked with clients houses to scoop, you could always reevaluate to determine if you should hire an employee or two and add service during the week.

@@petwastemillionaire Thank you for your insight. While I had considered that limiting to only Saturdays or Sundays could restrict the number of customers I can serve, I hadn’t thought about people having time to do it themselves on weekends. I’ll look into finding help during weekdays until I can grow the business enough to quit my job. Your advice has been helpful and is much appreciated!

Do you mind giving a ball park % increase to pricing as yards get bigger?…I know the standard is 1/8-1/4 acre but I’m assuming prices increase beyond this incrementally?
@petwastemillionaire3 ай бұрын
We do not charge more for a larger yard until it gets to be sizably larger (an acre or more). When we charge ,the way we determine that is based on the amount of time we spend in a yard compared to a more standard sized yard. It's not based on a percentage.

@@petwastemillionaireare you thinking it doesn’t take that much more time to do just under 1 acre than it does and 1/8-1/4 acre? How much time (reasonable) do you estimate it should take 1/8-just under 1 acre? How much more do you increase for 1 acre or more? How do you schedule them for days? Do you assign them a day or you let them choose a day they want it done? Thank you for dropping all of these free gems!!!

This is probably a dumb question, but how do you bill their card?

Or where are the depositing the money and does that mean they have access to your business banking information?

No such thing as dumb questions. You set up a merchant processing account that let's you charge customers for the services you provide.

So you just take a hit of the cancel after their first service with months worth of waste and hours spent there? I'm guessing you don't allow that?
@petwastemillionaire9 ай бұрын
That is a really valid concern to bring up @kyleedon3863! Yes, there are situations that it is not to our advantage in offering a first scoop free - but the focus on a great customer experience in the longterm tends to pay out. The goal is to get them and keep them. Some of our franchisees have experimented with different strategies for first time scoops.

@@petwastemillionaire Thanks for the response, I think as the business grows I would try what you implement but at the moment I don't want to attract the ones that can't really afford it and waste my energy. I try to binge watch any videos you come out with to help my own business in the UK and appreciate all your help 🙂

Great video. Thank you for sharing. Quick question. If you have customers billed monthly and you get a heavy rain for 3-4 straight days, how do you handle that? Do they get a credit for missing that week, or do you scoop in the rain?
