The Best Ever Version and adaptation made! 1995 - Beautifully and Perfectly done. Magnificent actors with their very high level of excellence in portraying all their roles individually and collaborating as group performance overall is superb! The soundtrack and costumes were masterly done and magnificent which bring us to the regency era enormously and undeniably the best and great experience and feelings while watching this masterpiece interpretation of the great Ms. Jane Austen literary masterpiece of all time. Loving it so much and watching repeatedly the whole series almost everyday! Well done to all and hope to find similar story in the near future! Magnificent and Superb Adaptation!! I have watched it so many times and still enjoy the performances by all. The 1995 version is the best... the cast are excellent, Jane the perfect example of what was fashionable beauty, pale skinned, submissive and compassionate... at first I hated that she didn't look like our vision but after some study she was the right choice for that Era.

This is the best version. A time when the BBC knew how to put on good shows unlike the rubbish they put out now. Even when given a perfect set of books to redo they make a hash of it. Poldark a perfect example, why bother when your writers throw away the original last two books and film their own very poor version. They ruin a great start by trashing the ending.

Colin is a great actor and portrayed a very romantic and sweet character in Bridget Jones diary BUT Mathew Macfadyen portrayed a more romantic and tender Mr Darcy in his version of Mr Darcy than Colin, by far.

I also prefer the 2005 version. Colin firth may be the best Mr Darcy but Keira Nightly is a better Elizabeth. The one in this series always seems to be smirking. I dont like her as much. Lawrence Olivier is also a wonderful Mr Darcy in the 1940 version. Greer Garson plays a very likable Elizabeth in that version as well.
