Your videos are great. Especially the ones from the 1940s through 1970s. I was born in Paterson in The Paterson General Hospital in 1949. Lived on North 6th Street until our family moved to Waldwick in 1953. My parents went to Central High School. Thanks for your hard work on these videos!!!

Hey Freddy, Thanks for the tour. That #299 locomotive was built by Rogers Locomotive Works in Paterson along with others to work the Panama Canal. The engines actually pulled the ships thru the Canal on the Atlantic side. They are used to pull the ships thru the 3 locks in the Canal Atlantic side. It is still the way it is done today with modern engines. I haven't been to the Museum in 15 plus years it has changed a lot. Jack Kuchera

My Uncle Jay was working for the city back in the late '70s when Mayor Kramer brought the 299 [locomotive] back from Panama & Central America; I'll never forget the Great Falls Festivals around that time, they were the best.

That building holds a lot of sad memories for me. It was the D.Y.F.S building back in 1988 when I was taken from my mother. I was also told she passed away in that building.

My Condolences...I live in the Essex Mill, right next to the DYFS building; it's actually around the corner from the Museum, on Mill Street & McBride Avenue Extension (where Ellison begins, a block from P.S. #2)

Back In the day I worked at the textile plant on van houten. Sadly my brother, his best friend and another guy died on that street when in 1977 there was a big explosion at the die house.my older brother worked in the boiler room and came out and saw the carnage. Saddest day of my life. Rest in peace all that died that day.

Wow, when it comes to having a history, Paterson has some pretty long legs.
