Even though I considered that road Totowa Road, it was pointed out to me that the road is actually Riverview Drive!

Hey Freddy, this is a great series--thanks for making it! Funny, I grew up with a different 'Annie' story. In that version, Annie was an old lady who lived in her family home on some property where the Laurel Grove cemetery (the one on your left in the video) is. The town wanted to expand the cemetery and had dogged her family for a long time about buying them out, but they refused. When Annie was the only one left there, they set out to terrorize her into selling, and she somehow (I can't remember this detail now) ended up dead because of it. Legend was that driving along Totowa Rd where the property is, you'd see her dressed in white (of course lol), standing on the side of the road. Also, where her grave is, was a dead white rabbit (if you could find the grave) :-) As a teenager, my friends and I would 'initiate' newcomers with a scary story drive through Laurel Grove and Holy Sepulchre cemeteries. I used to hang out in both places, because despite it being what they are, there are some beautiful (and very old!) stones, mausoleums and statues in there. I lived on Marshall St, Slater and E 25th St in the 60s, West Paterson in the 70s and McBride Ave (Stony Road area next to Westside Park, near the falls) in the 80s & early 90s, so these videos really bring some good memories back.

For years, at about 1/2 mile (not sure exact spot), there was a paint spill on the roadway on the river side of the road in one of the first sharper curves

Aww Man I remember this story growing up! Memories! The version I heard was Annie died on that road on her prom night and she hunts the road at night in her white prom dress.

We had some good times on Annie's Road. We would prank friends while driving at night; we would start the tale and stop the car under the bridge then ask the "victim" seating in the back seat to check the back tire to see if it was flat; we would hand him a flash light and when he got out we would take off in the night and turn off the headlights. Wait a few minutes then pick him up. It was great; it wasn't so great when it was done to me but it was a form of passage; we would never forget Annie's story after that.

For sure. I would say that depending on which neighborhood one grew up would determine which version or story they would hear

Don't think her name was ever mentioned in any of the versions of the urban legend
