That show was freaking AH-MAZE-ZING!!! The constant movement, multiple choreography, big hit executions, and overall GE deserves nothing less than a standing ovation 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Well deserved 1st place win!!!!!

What is the theme?
@Jkris2 жыл бұрын
@@jesuspectre9883 the theme is kinda of obvious with their show title “Another door opens”. What I got from this show is that all great things will come to an end eventually. But another door of opportunities will arise for you after. All great things must come to an end, but even greater things will arise for you. Following their 2019 season, they took a year off in 2020 to have a dance ensemble that would perform outside of the Color guard activity. They came back in 2021 for this virtual guard show and they took home another World title just this past season. Like I said, opening doors for new opportunities. This show “Another Door Opens” was hinting the audience for a new opportunity- the dance ensemble in 2020.

Me too. I mean, we get it. You can throw an eight, do a cartwheel, a backflip and cook a four course meal all before catching it behind your back while doing the splits. Just give us like a 24 count full guard flag feature because with the talent involved it would be mind blowing!
@briannastanaford51843 жыл бұрын
@@MS-df2fk the problem is for world class judges don’t want to see that anymore, they’ve seen it a million times. The purpose of having a world class guard is to push the boundaries of guard as a concept even more, that’s why flag features aren’t as common because it’s been done before. You see that type of thing in more regional A guard’s because that’s the expectation, for world class the expectation is to be able to do these cool tricks under tosses because they’ve been doing this for so long.
@MS-df2fk3 жыл бұрын
@@briannastanaford5184 That's a shame, then. Having the guard split into small weapons groups the whole time throwing toss after toss means there's no build ups, no climaxes. Everything just feels the same and then it's over. Plus they may as well be spinning clear sabres because the work is impossible to read with no color contrast to the tarp.
@katwilliams2950 Жыл бұрын
@@MS-df2fk I feel like Pride's 2022 show did better flag wise. Like there was at least 2 points where flags were at least semi featured. I definitely feel you on missing flag features in top tier groups tho. I get that yeeting rifles and sabers across the room to someone else is technically a crap ton harder but ....flags are just so great. Flag is my fav and it'd be wonderful if we could have moments of just crisp in time flag features with tricks that we know they could pull off. Extra points for silence if they have it!!!!

What ever happened to catching a piece of equipment solid. Seems like how you catch a toss doesnt matter anymore
@Bon.aa164 жыл бұрын
They were catching solid. If they didn’t then they wouldn’t have placed first. Plus, they had a ton of dance choreography to go with equipment, so I’d say they did a freaking amazing job with what they were given.
@wayneschneberger4 жыл бұрын
still don't understand how they judge equipment execution...I marched with cavies in 82' and they would have scored low in execution. by the standards set in 82' Is Gaines still involved with the Pride?
@levifillmlre86874 жыл бұрын
But they were catching solid?? Look at all the moments after a catch of a 5 or above. Most of the time they have a second or two pause before moving. Where are you saying they aren’t catching solid??

Sometimes they did sometimes they didn’t. They really fought for a lot of their catches to begin with. Not a standard of POC excellence but somehow still first place. Guess they judge on other things (right?)
