I know that our horses made it to Southern Europe (Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Greece) through colonization, but how did it enter Poland?! We've never had an interaction with Eastern Europeans.

Yousef Al-A'ssaf يوسف العساف Polish high aristocracy started buying them in arabian countries in the 18th century. The studs were demolished, moved, bought out by other polish aristocrats but there were always people in love with the arabian horse and thanks to them some of the lines started 300 years ago are still present in the current studs :) You should look it up, it's a fascinating story :D

Frank Kordalski I don't think so. They coul be used by dragons (dragonów), but those are too small and light hirses to support the later winged husars.

In times of the Winged Hussars (also other Polish knight formations) could only be the nobility (nobles) with their own horses, 1 such horse was worth as much as 1 to 2 villages. It was a special Polish horse breeding, and their export was prohibited under the death penalty, as far as I know. @codeRed7007 please, do conduct some proper research into these fine horses' bloodlines; they are pure descendants, and therefore not only equal the arabian peninsula, but may also exceed. But, there are many individual horses around the world who can be the best no matter where they come from.

I greatly admire many Polish Arabians, but would have kept the post-1990 outside additions to the studs limited to: 1) Monogramm, an excellent example who returned lines including that of Mammona, who was lost to Russia in WWII; and 2) the Bahraini stallion, who refreshed a pre-WWII influence. Aside from some of the desert stallions and the descendants of imperial horses from Weil, the Polish Arabians are not included in various regional organizational lists of asil horses. They are, of course, all registered purebred Arabians within a WAHO studbook.
