I definitely feel the positive energy radiating from you guys. It's a pleasure watching the video and watching you react to Pride.

It was a long road sown of pain and intolerance to reach these celebrations full of color and joy. A tribute to those who had to go through such dark times. Happy Pride sweeties.

I was involved in gay and aids activism in the eighties, I know that every time that one more person joins a pride parade the world does become a better place for all of us. It is easy to get involved in claiming our equality, wear a rainbow flag or march in pride parades. The many small but significant actions add up to a mountain of hope.

Thank you for taking us along!! :) Also, I’m going to try to make a long story short. I live in a small community built around mining. Well someone decided it would be a good idea to try and have a pride festival here, but he was more about the drag queens coming here more than anything. I had/have a group called GLU ORG (which stands for Gays and Lesbians United which we are there to support all in the LGBTQIA+ community). We wanted to try to get the word out about our group and was going to try to help with our pride festival but my mom was real sus about it. Rewinding a little, I came out when I was 14 to my sister and friends, my mom still hadn’t known. Fast forward 10 years to when this pride was happening and my mom got mad and sat me down and asked if I was gay, I said no, she said “don’t lie to me” and I said yes.. she went on a spew about what am I thinking, how do I expect to have kids, don’t I want to get married? All the small minded stuff, which I had an answer for each question. Well she said I disrespected her for not telling her and we didn’t talk for 2 weeks. The 2 weeks ended with her hugging me and crying and i guess accepting me. But now we don’t even talk about it, like when something gay comes up its awkward. I haven’t had a BF for the fear I guess that she will disapprove again. It’s like walking on eggshells. I absolutely LOVE my mom but its hard. I haven’t been to a real pride festival and I want to so bad. (Oh yeah the Pride festival here failed big time, it was a one and done thing). Sorry for the long story, I just had to get it out. XoXo Tory

Now you kind of made me feel guilty, as I live in Chicago and skipped the parade, especially given how many people don't have the option. :) But the Parade here in Chicago has gotten so big it's just downright scary. The Gayborhood just can't handle that many people (estimates from 500k to 1 million). I went to the gym instead and there were all kinds of locals who just skipped it for the same reasons. WeHo looked just about the right size, like we used to be in the mid-90s here. I wonder if anyone else in large cities is experiencing the same thing, a parade event so large it's just gotten out of hand?

I hear ya! Large crowds/events definitely stress me out but thankfully everything felt super organized and spaced out this year 🙏❤️
