If you know your or your gaming group’s favorite game elements/mechanisms, wait for a big mini game with those elements, and take the plunge! Be selective cause it HAS to hit the table a LOT to justify its price! The big mini games collecting dust on my shelf, are just painful...! More so when $15-25 card games get so much more play... If stretch goals almost double gameplay options or content, even better. Mini’s help give more of a sense of immersion, size and numerical threat (so judge the necessity of the minis too). Which makes for a lot of irony for this game: all the effort into the art and stunning large monsters (immersion factors), but comes with a 4-quadrant game board. Odd... Re: Price, maybe change your perspective: A family movie night with drinks and concessions is easily $50, not counting going out for dinner. That means if I play a $100 game twice with the family, it’s paid for itself...! Every subsequent night the game comes out, I come out ahead another $50 on my investment.

This game fits into a bit of a weird spot where I really want to play it, but I have zero desire to actually own it. I think its a combination of the character art not pulling me in (those monsters look amazing though) & having already backed Townsfolk Tussle, I'm not sure my collection needs another boss battler.

Would have been a pass anyway, but now it's an easy pass. This doesn't click at all and actually seems rather boring. Only 4 spaces around the monster that can be occupied by characters? Don't know what to make out of this. After seeing this I am now really looking forward to Sankokushin: Five Sacrifices, which already appears to be way more appealing, interesting and innovative.

It's so interesting...because for me I love this one. Then again I'm a big fan of Marvel Champions as well. It's much more about the card play, with the board being a secondary aspect of the game.

@Tim I like the simpler board. In KDM it always seemed like you just crowd around the enemy so the the only time the rest of the board gets used is if you get punted away or the enemy runs and you have to chase it. Also, the action sequence programming aspect is interesting to me. Just my take though.

I am excited to learn more about this game. Unfortunately, this video did not add to the excitement. I’ll read the rulebook. I did want to stop watching every time I heard “snuggle token”. It’s very off-putting given the theme of the game.

Am I the only one who always wonders why people feel the need to publicly announce that they are passing on something without even providing any objectively helpful info about why they are passing? I understand it in cases where people are on the edge and ultimately decide to pass because of some concerns and want to sort of let others know that there may be some negatives that others are not seeing. This at least has some value for other people.

@@BoardGameCo It just feels very video gamey but not in a good way. The minis are nice but not a selling point for me and they just sit there in the middle. A mix between marvel champions way of spending cards for cards and a weak tactical RPG. I understand it's the introduction so that could be why it feels 'weak'.

I'm usually one that leans more towards not paying a premium to get minis that aren't needed. But i think this game needs them to be what it is. Time will tell what the reactions are. I would be cool with monster minis and hero standees but i doubt that will be an option.
