i love how in the lore of the original starcraft Zerus was a volcanic world and the original zerg were essentially just zerg larva that wandered the surface of the planet(pre overmind..)

Well different Zerg lives in lust jungle areas not just volcanic areas of the planet it’s self, maybe Zerus has deserts, islands, oceans, swamps. Even Zerg needs to learn to survive and thrive.

Admit it my fellow manga fans, this would be a cool "Isekai"/reincarnation manga and a breath of fresh air to that already saturated genre. Rather than be a hero, with window panel showing level and skill... the MC was transfered as a lowly zerg drones who gains awareness from the hivemind who's slowly but surely turn into a super bio organic monster, like the above. He would've need to consume several different organism to manually chose the evolution needed to survive in different environment (including outerspace to migrate between planet)

Have you heard of "I'm a Spider, So What?". It's not an exact thing, and it does feature the mc as a videogame character, but the mc does get isekai'd as a lowly spider, then slowly evolves to fight more powerful creatures

IAmGunzNoob That black one was just a generic Primal Zerg. And the corruption was the Hivemind. Zerg were originally individuals, just like the Protoss and Terrans, but then the Xel'Naga created the Overmind and it made the zerg into a hivemind like ants. Some managed to escape this fate though, like Zurvan, and their descendants became the primal zerg

At first I didn't like the zerg at all but after seeing their history and the primal zerg I guess you can say i was dumb for not knowing their true side. To be honest I like primal zerg better especially the Ancient one he was cool and awsome(in my opinion). Forgive me if I was Harsh and low anyway i'm slowly starting to like them a little or more.

Maybe they release a melee map on arcade where you can choose between the different primal Zerg factions and then by finishing objectives and earning achievements you unlock skins. But yeah there many skins to put so they will probably choose the most awesome ones or create new. I already gather money for the collector's edition of Legacy Of The Void. I want more Protoss skins cause the Judicator is just the Zealot painted black.

That's why they go to the trouble of making all the mechanical fixtures of Terran so intricate, the evolutions and upgrades make sense, and the storyline character-driven.

because swarm zerg are pretty much like insects (hive mind, every strain have a definite task in the swarm, with specialized organs, they protect the queens, who lays eggs, etc etc etc) while the primal zergs are pretty much like reptiles or mammals, each ahve to fend off for hymself, no hive mind, no specialization, only an alpha who leads the pack by virtue of being the strongest they took very different evolutionary routes several millenia ago, that is A LOT for beings with the evolutionary capabilities of a zerg

It's the zerg, they mutate as a extremely fast rate. One day you might be seeing some Larva, the next day all of a sudden, you have a full-fledged Infestation on the planet that requires either the planet blowing up, or the surface being glassed to eliminate the infection.

The thing is this isnt what evolution is, this is like genetic engineering/transfer/stealing this has nothing to do with natural selection and the game kinda misused the word "evolution" and made it mean something different. Evolution doesnt necessarily mean overall improvement, far from it. In fact many times evolution made things smaller and less dangerous if the environment favored that particular build. There are also a few vestigial organs/bones/tissues that remain in animals including humans that serve no function at all and are really just dead weight. Evolution is not this game of constant deliberate upgrades, its more like a game of chance but when the jackpot is hit that particular organism spreads and there is an illusion like the mutation was somehow purposeful. As much as I love this game and the original story is has, it is just so childishly wrong when it talks about "evolution" in such a way without understanding what it really is. Its funny how the creators didnt understand what natural selection and evolution really is and just used it as a senseless buzzword lol.

For me, they aren't true zerg. The original zerg larvae just took from them. So the proper term for the primals should be "zerusians". But just don't care about that notion and let us just enjoy the expansion's campaign.

heh. being a sc1 veteran... i dont really like primal zerg. or, more precisely... they dont feel like real zerg to me. zerg always seemed to me to be like insects. a giant swarm of buffed up insects. primal zerg, on the other hand, seem more like dinosaurs.

Actually, the overmind decided that the insect evolutionary path to be more beneficial then the reptile evolutionary path hence pick it over the reptile evolutionary path. The insect evolutionary path allowed them to have hive mind mentality just like what you usually see in ant colony allowing for a much structured task for each individual and a reliable army, creating more soldier for a much cheaper cost. An army of lizard wouldn't have that benefit... however, primal zerg who prioritize individually has no use of that fact, thus they prefer the reptilian form.
