Jason, please do make the cut files available. I’m a long time, part time fabricator and I can see the value in this. Also, noting I’m a CNC programmer I see all the value in this. It’s very cool you have a cut table to do all the cut outs for this fire pit Your design is very cool in that there’s no measure of assembly other than sliding parts together. No nuts, no bolts, nothing really to lose. I’d definitely take advantage of the opportunity to have one made. I’ve been wanting to take advantage of the services of Send-Cut-Send for a while now. Again, I vote yes! Thanks!

I agree with other viewer, get a patten ASAP. Yes, many of us would like to download it. An idea: if you make another set of holes towards the back on the sides you could have the rod back more and add a grill or flat iron over the whole pit to cook on. You have something really good there. Happy trails.

Ok, I’m different, don’t care for the fire pit that you built. Two or three big reasons....too heavy, no good way to keep it together when it’s packed away, too many parts, and too dirty and messy when it’s time to pack it away. Would be great for a permanent yard pit. Just my thoughts and it helps your algorithms! The fireside pop up pit is a very good product and is easy Peazy to modify it for cooking👍👍

If you ever consider making a v2 you should make the sides have a hole so you can slot in a black pipe propane jet, that way you can still use this during burn bans
@PrimalOutdoors15 күн бұрын
Haha, I have already thought that. I don’t have to remake it though I am sure I could add the holes with my mag-drill. Good thinking though👍 Jason

I understand how "good enough" is never good enough. Really like the concept of what you have done here. While I couldn't accomodate that with my usual camp kit, I could definitely see using it as a backyard focal point for small BBQ, S'mores, small social gatherings, etc. Wondering if it could be scaled down? Or up?

It seems like it will be hard to get the cross bars to feed through both holes when there is a fire burning. Perhaps a hole in one side and a vertical slot in the other? It also seems like another hole further back would be nice for the grate.

I like the design. It looks like it would really work. Only suggestion would be more 90 degree supports on the vertical supports so you could lower the horizontal bar closer to the heat. There may also be alternative ways to adjust the height of the cook surface above the fire. Hey, keep it up!

Thank you for this video. I was wondering what happened to the Pop Up Fire Pit, especially since I just bought one! lol That design of yours looks great, and I'd venture that a person with an angle grinder + metal cutoff wheel could probably cut out and fashion a crude version of your design.
