You said that Apollo 11 landed on the Moon with just five months to spare on Kennedy's promise to land a man on the Moon and safely return him to the Earth In that decade! (Or words to that effect.) "If I have said this once I have said this a thousand times" The Romans used Roman numerals to count with! In the year 1 BCE the Romans controlled the Holy Land of middle east and most of the western world. Roman numerals do not have a zero! So the year 1 BCE was followed by the year 1 CE. Notice there was no zero year. The first decade started on January 1, 1 CE and the first decade ended on December 31, in the year 10 CE. All Decades end at the conclusion of the zero year. So the 1960's Did not start until January the 1st 1961 and did not end until December 31, 1970 was over! It is Just that simple! (So really Apollo 11 still had 16 months and 7 days at the conclusion of its flight. !) Forget What the T.V. Talking Head's Keep Saying!

Growing up, I had no idea how important the super guppy was, and now every time I see it I like to watch and take pictures as it flys by. It's home is El Paso Tx where I grew up and still live. The super guppy still gets flown several times a year and it's an awesome thing to see lumbering through the sky.

I remember the guppies at Santa Barbara CA airport where I think they were made. Conroy had an open house and and again. He left the company and went to the other end of the airport and started Conroy Aviation where he converted various aircraft by re-engining them with RR DART turbo jets including DC-3s

This is a newer guppy, what happened to the guppy used during WWII (original guppy) used for the war effort, original guppy was made by Douglas. Last one I saw was outside a airport on display. Same looking body, smaller and army green.
