Ali Syed the closest thing to your wish is getting a game called elite Dangerous. It has a simulated milky way galaxy with all the stuff in it. Dont let yourself be fooled by the trailers or the website. If you like the wonders of space and like to travel and have that feeling of „being there“ then grab yourself a VR headset, grab the game, get yourself an exploration ship and go ! There is NOTHING closer to the real thing. I myself am out there for a year now, exploring and visiting remote worlds. Its wonderful.

Seeing the big Great Red Spot with your own eyes is a unique experience. I’ve seen it numerous times with a telescope and every time i see it i can’t help but feel scared knowing I’m witnessing something so small seen from here on earth when in reality it is a massive storm the size of earth that has ravaging through the planet for thousands of years.

I don't think a puny satellite can create any kind of storm on any planet, it would be torn apart by gravity or get burnt by atmospheric friction long before it reaches the lower atmosphere.

At 2:30, you say the number for Fahrenheit and show Fahrenheit and Celsius. At 2:38, you say the number for km/h and show the conversion for mph. At 4:52, you say "700 degrees", and show "1300*" which seems to be the conversion of 700C to 1300F, or maybe you're correcting an incorrect figure, I can't be sure. Please pick a system of units as your preferred system and use that for everything you say. If you want to say both, say your preferred system first. Always show both the figure for both unit systems on screen.
@xBris

@this_is_patrick
@this_is_patrick 5 жыл бұрын
@@sweiland75 Americans are taught both SI units and the imperial derived US customary units, you think they use lbs, ft, in, and yds in scientific circles? The customary unit is still preferred for daily use because 1) it's the norm, and 2) at this point, it's too costly to fully convert to metric without any perceived benefits. These are why they still stick with it outside of academia, international trade and the military. Primal Space is in the wrong here for being inconsistent, but US education, for all of its flaws, isn't bad in this context.

That’s a phenomenonal thing on its own to me. The red storm is a defining thing of Jupiter I’ve daydreamed about since I was a child, the thought of it being a new storm is insane. It’s barely different in age to the Jamestown settlement, yet seems like it would’ve been there since the planet came to be. With the role it plays in the condition of the whole planet, is it expected to heat up further or start to cool with the winds calmed?

"without actually observing it". Ehm, no. That did happen (that we knew about it without having observed it), but that was until the 1850s, when it was actually observed through a telescope. Then we discovered it had been actually seen before by Galilei in the early 1600s, but he didn't recognize it as a planet.

@Cheech Bickens What a stupid argument. It's fairly common to talk about world-changing scientific discoveries from the past as "we", in the sense of "human kind". It's often not used for recent discoveries, but when we're talking across the centuries, when generations of scientists are involved, "we" as in humankind is not uncommon.

I love your work but I was found completely lost when you talked about temperatures, as it was either in Fahrenheit or Celsius, for a video of this type, you should be more precise and give the unit everytime, or stick to the international unit system Either way, good job

Those jet streams mentioned must be deeper than what we see in the photos. The Red Spot is spinning much faster than the bands on either side would indicate. In fact, those bands seem to be hardly moving at all.

I don't agree that 2 "wind band" can keap the storm at the same spot (~2:18). My belief is that there has to be some activity on the surface kausing the event even that we cannot see any surface.
