I love this ! It really got me going with VSDC - I was having problems with it before. The language is clear, the division into sections or chapters on discrete topics is ideal for finding things a second or third time. I was up and running within a day. Great video man! I used VSDC for 2 years before switching to Resolve, and never knew I could be doing slow motion!!! That would've really changed things for me! I agree, the way they expand each clip into its own timeline sort of when you add effects is a little weird, but still, it's a pretty powerful software for someone just starting out. Hi! We add new tools every few months, and we actually upgraded the slow motion feature with reframing modes a bit more than a year ago. So yes, you can easily achieve a perfect slow motion effect even after decreasing your video's frame rate drastically.

Using your detailed steps I was able to grab a clip from a video I had. That is probably the most basic use of an editor but I've never come across a instruction that spelled it out so well. So I upgraded to the pro version. I also printed out the keyboard shortcuts to have handy. Thanks so much

Great video, however I cannot drag my video to the start and I have a 3 minute gap at the beginning! I don't know if it is the mouse on my laptop playing up....is there another way to drag the video to the start to close up the gap rather than just dragging it over?

Nice. More detail and specifics than the other VSDC tutorials I've seen. My problem is that VSDC is leaving about one minute of black, dead space at the beginning of the video, and I am unable to edit it out. I can't upload something with that dead space at the beginning. Thank you! I am now trying to find explanation for the layers. Doing my first video and I have imported a lot of videos and images to the timeline. It puts each one in its own layer. I know I can drag it to layer 1, but the software has made as many layers as imports I have done. I'm sure I'm missing a simple setting or command to eliminate them or merge them, or should I be keeping them in separate layers. Is there a video that you have or someone else giving these instructions? I purchased the software and have not found the answer in the manuel yet.

I'm trying to follow along here. I've used other video editing software before so I'm fairly competent with the basics. Here's the first thing I'm running into that I can't seem to figure out what's going on. I add my first clip with no problem; I add a second clip with the end of the current scene option also without issue. When I go to add a third clip it places it at the end of the second clip but then deletes the second clip and leaves a gap in the middle. I've tried importing it multiple ways with different settings and it does it every time. What am I missing here?

I will be making a music video, and that is where I need to start before adding various video clips and still shots.
