I’ve had a Expo Arms BCG for 2 years now and I’ve always had issues with it tearing up buffers. I called primary arms and they sent a new BCG and told me to keep the original one.

It appears the carrier is out of spec, looks like the tail may not be square and only a small part of the tail is contacting the buffer face, upon firing that smaller contact point gouges and rotates the buffer causing the chatter marks. You can see in the second picture the chatter marks have not made it all the way around the buffer face, I believe the BCG was used for a shorter time in that rifle.

If the old carrier is still unusable in your option, at least you got a nice spare bolt out of it 👍🏻

Better customer service than Colt… wow

Chatter marks looks like the buffer is hitting the buffer detent. I would bet that the overall carrier length of the first one is just so slightly short.

It’s not there too high if it was the buffer detent it would be on the outside edge of the buffer

Unfortunately for now I buy everything myself and I have some big non gun items that I need to buy over the next year so I’m gonna just work with what I got for now. I’m thinking of getting a Jackal but again everything costs money and the economy is in the gutter lol. Thanks for your support

I just received an expo arms charging handle that is out of spec. I emailed primary arms and am still waiting on a response. I know it's a cheap part, but still...

I agree if you don’t hear from them call I think something is messed up with there email I called them the next business day and that’s how I got it rolling.

@@THEPAGUNGUY funny thing, they emailed me back after I commented. They said they would send another charging handle at no cost.

@@reevesc87 interesting you know they called me today out of the blue and asked me to send the other BCG back to them. Which I was kinda shocked cause they originally told me to keep it. I already fixed it I just resent them a email and told them I already fixed the other carrier and what they wanted to do. I have no problem sending the old BCG back I just wish they would have told me b4 I fixed it. I thought they were calling to talk to me about this video. I assumed they figured out who I was from the video but they didn’t mention it. Not sure if they seen it or not. Either way I love PA

The biggest draw back for me when buying a bcg. And it is the most important spec. Is wether or not the bolt has been shot peened. A lot of bolts may be MPI/HP tested. But if the bolt hasn't been shot peened the life of the bolt will be shortened. 158c and 9310 bolts are castings. And shot peening does similar to what forging does. Companies like BCM, Sionics, SOLGW and Colt all run shot peened bolts. The best deal ever was when AO Precision had military contract overruns. 100% TDP specced BCG's for $69.00. I notice with a lot of these Microbest BCG's out in the wild are not shot peened bolts. And the price reflects that. Microbest does this process as well. They are the OG .mil/.gov supplier of aftermarket BCG's.
