I just picked up a DDM4 rifle and wanted to try an LPVO without spending too much to see if I would like it. I purchased the SLX NOVA w/5.56 BDC in 1-6 and I’m really impressed with the quality for the money. For my weekend range use, this was exactly what I was looking for. I was pleasantly surprised that I could get something that is more than adequate and genuinely useful, without breaking the bank! It definitely punches above its weight in overall price/performance.

Yea i agree - it definitely weird. Not sure if I got an amazing slx and a bad plx, or if this is just how its supposed to be 😂

i have the PLX c FFP on one of the rifles and the SLX Nova on another. The bezel seems to disappear a tad more on the PLX . the SLX does have more forgiving eye relief at 1x . the SLX is actually only 1.1OZ heavier which was surprising to me. PLXc is sweet but for the money hard to beat the SLX nova. I am running the same GLX mount on mine also. Have the PLX mount with the PLXc. I was considering ordering the PLXc nova with their sale this weekend but looking through both scopes could not really justify especially with the eye relief of the slx. not sure if it is the second focal plain thing but even the PLXc nova has the same shorter eye relief as the Raptor style reticle in the original PLXc. I think the eye relief thing is more because of the magnification. The 1-6x has better than the 1-8x. The SLX I don't need to shift my head forward at all from 1x to 6x where on the PLXc from 1-8 have to just a tad. If one gets the diaopter set right on both have nice glass. Zoom adjust is WAY lighter and smoother however on the PLXc. but as I use the SLX more it has seemed to break in a bit nicer. But out of the box the PLXc is much lighter and smoother. While I like my PLXc ( original version) it has a much more complicated reticle. For shorter range aim and shoot I actually like my SLX better. hard to beat the SLX for its price range.

@@leesamuelson yea the plx is def a tad better overall, but even still the SLX surprises me in plenty of areas... And then it's only 30% the price

10:44 if you didn’t say which one is which, I would have said that the right one has better glass. The blue distortion seems way more evident on the left one. Also in 4x colors look less vivid, and the texture of the walls of the house is slightly more grayed out. Is it just my impression?

The SLX looks much better at 1x. Less distortion. 1-6x scopes usually have a better 1x than 1-8x scopes.

Primary arms stuff is great if you want adequate stuff for a reasonable price, esp the slx shit

The SLX looks so cheap. I have just bought a PLX-C nova, and it’s an amazing scope. The best I have ever tried.

The SLX is cheap. The turrets are a tinny feeling, and the glass is not very good. The PLX is one of the best LPVO's out there. Everyone has their opinion but this comparison is way off in my opinion. The SLX works and if that is your budget than that is fine, but again to compare it to a top of the line LPVO in glass, turrets, build quality is a bit off base.

Please stop. I have or had both. Not even in the same galaxy. The SLX is fine but cmon please stop with these silly - I have "as good an optic" You dont. The PLX is far far superior. Now if you dont want to spend 1400 I get it, but its not nearly the same. The video footage on YT is not a way to compare.

The SLX benefits from having only 1-6 vs the PLX's is 1-8, so I think that allows the SLX glass to look as good as it does. However, the PLX is likely more durable and has some extra magnification, all in a slightly smaller package (almost 1 inch smaller)...but IMO it isn't worth the almost 4x price over the SLX unless you really want 8x for longer distances. For me I'm really just messing around sub 200m so I'm clearly biased towards the SLX

@@businesscasualarmory Well we can have a different opinion - all good. I have a plx and had two variations of the Gen 4 SLX and returned both because I didnt like the glass at all, and I thought the adjustment turrets felt terrible. If reticle doesnt matter (to me it does) I would save the extra money and a PST 1-6. I personally hate that crosshair reticle so that isnt for me, but as far as feel, glass, turret quality its no contest. With that said I did a side by side with a Gen 4 SLX and the Vortex Venom 1-6x and the Vortex Venom was an overall better package for less money.
