January 18, 2019. Primavera Latin Jazz Band live at the historic Cadillac Hotel in San Francisco. Personnel: Lena Johnson/piano, Dave Casini/vibes, Jeff McNish/guitar, David Pinto/bass, Bob Blankenship/drums and percussion. Concerts at the Cadillac is a free monthly series of high-quality concerts in the lobby of the Cadillac Hotel in the heart of San Francisco's Tenderloin district (since 2007). The cat with the hybrid percussion kit is amazing! Keeping the 2/3 - 3/2 timing on the block and bass drum below, using his left hand for the congas, and the right hand for the bell, 3 cymbals, and timbal...... wow! A great example of 4-way independence.

So clean & solid the way they played those "classic tunes"! I have to give credit also to the person who recorded this cause he/she must've used a really good microphone cause all the instruments sounded very clear & no one drowning anyone out. The bass sounded tight, sharp & clear & have to give special credit to the person playing percussion cause playing the clave with your foot & at the same time congas & timbales is not an easy task! Bravo, these guys did great!!!

I've noticed that most live recordings with poor sound is because it is not coming from a console, where everything is mixed. Basically when any individual uses any recording devices like personal cameras, cell phones; each has its integrated microphone, which doesn't provide a good sound. In this case, it is obvious the recorded sound was processed through a Mixer console.
