Thank you for taking the time produce such an excellent tutorial. It’s been my experience that many tutors on KZbin show you how to play the notes but here you’ve made the assumption that your student can read the notes and have instead showed how to play the music. For me this is exactly what I was looking for and you’ve really helped me understand this music. Thank you very much.

Thanks to your excellent tutorial I can now play (not perfectly) one of my favourite pieces. Your straightforward, approach to teaching has helped me learn my first piano piece. I have admired Einaudi for many years so please keep producing these brilliant tutorials. Maybe Una Mattina and Fairytale? Thank you Severine, these are, in my humble opinion , the best piano tutorials on KZbin.

Thanks for your concise work! I'm curious whether you're interested in teaching Flora by Einuadi. There are two repeated A and B sections, melody in quarter notes of off beat, bass in quarter notes on the beat, played with a masterful use of syncopation and tension. I've studied the sheet but have felt a plateau in these technical aspects that I'm not well versed in. While following your guidance on this piece has in turn made Flora easier, centered advice in a tutorial would be amazing!

I can independently play the intro left hand and the right hand melody but not both hands together. What' a trick to get the brain to sync them to play together? Just practice?
@severinepiano3 жыл бұрын
That's great! Yes, practicing bit by bit :) I would advice to start with small parts (first one bar, then two bars, ...) and practice slowly until you get it, then move on to the next part and connect them and slowly speed up ^^ Good luck!

I’ve looked on your channel for more pieces where you similarly break down dynamics, fingering, sections etc - but not sure I’ve found anymore. Are you able to signpost to other tutorials you’ve completed in this style and format?

Hey Severine, thanks for this tutorial - it was so helpful! Wondering if you have any tips for not holding tension in the LH in the first bars, where finger 5 is holding down the note.
@severinepiano2 жыл бұрын
Best way to release tension in general on piano is using your wrist, try to move your wrist and let it flow with the music :)

hi i am a beginner an i loved this piece so much. just wanted to ask if it is possible to pley the same way on a keyboard? since it doesn't have pedals and I don't know if I can make some sounds more pronounced than the rest as you mentioned in 1:57 timestamp. Anyway.. thank you for this amazing tutorial.
@severinepiano2 жыл бұрын
Hello! Sorry for the late response… If you have a keyboard with weighted keys, it’s possible but it won’t sound the same without pedal indeed (you can try to hold your fingers as long as possible to compensate the pedal)

Thank you so much! I was wondering in like the first three minutes how you knew to play the black keys? Cuz Ive been trying to figure out how to tell the difference between white keys and black keys on piano sheets but they look the same :/
@severinepiano2 жыл бұрын
I see :) In front of the staff you can see 3 flats, so that means every B, E and A in the piece are flat (flat and sharps are usually the black keys). So the B-flat is played on the black key between A and B!

thank for this tutorial I re-learned how to play this song, do you by chance take any request for piano pieces.? If so could you please please please consider making a in-depth tutorial for Beethoven Sonata Op.2, No.3 in C Major of the 2nd Mvt Adagio please I've been trying to learn this as well, and you make great tutorial videos that people can understand and it's hard to find good Piano tutorials for certain songs, like ( Beethoven's Sonata Op.2, No.3 in C Major of the 2nd Mvt ) and or pieces from Franz Schubert Piano Sonata No. 8 in F-sharp minor (D.571 ) Frederic Chopin - Nocturne Oubliée in C sharp minor ( who is one of my favorite composers ) I really really hope that you will see this/my comment :)
