Hi Michael, you have no idea of the depth of gratitude I have for your generous FREE tutorials on one of the most beautiful pieces played on the piano. I'm sure hundreds if not thousands of viewers say the same. I had it easy. I had a teacher and bought an upright piano. Then life turned sour and my family struggled with money. The lessons stopped, my piano long out of tune. I wanted to sell my piano in those desperate times to which I cried so hard, but luckily I didn't. For the next few years I've been learning on my own with slow progress and not sure if I'm even doing this right. Anyway, your generosity of giving these free videos tutorials without a surprise payment plan at the end of the videos is a flood of blessing for many of us. Watching how your hand move really helped, as trivial as it sounds. Thank you again for your tutorials. It does make a difference, never doubt that. Keep up the good work!

Hi Michael, I just want to post to say a huge thank you for creating the video tutorials for this song. I started playing the piano in secret in July 2020 with the goal to play this piece on my wedding day for my Wife. I taught myself the basics and by the end of 2020 I could play little bits. I wanted to learn the sheet music for I Giorni but it was a slow process. I then stumbled across your videos and was able to play it confidently by the end of 2021, I grew better and better until, at the end of July 2022, I was able to play this on a grand piano at my wedding reception for my shocked and tearful wife and our guests. Although nerves hit me and I stumbled on sections, I was able to play the piece. If it wasn't for these videos, I wouldn't have gotten there. Thank you so much again :)

I'm learning this, in honour of my Stepfather who passed away in August. I'm a complete beginner, having only just got my first (electric) piano. I literally can't thank you enough for making this so detailed, down to finger placement. I am so grateful. 🌷

You don't know how much this means to me! I'm visually impaired and have always wanted to learn to play the piano! I have enough vision to read fingers on keys, but not to read music, like text in a book. I've never been able to find an AMAZING teacher like you! I couldn't thank you enough; never mind how many years it's been! :-)

I have wanted to play this for years yet I gave up playing as I could never master left hand, now I have been shown how to play properly and given a little practice I wanted to see how to learn this song, your tutorial is excellent, the speed you show us at allows me to play along without struggling, it's by no means an easy piece but you have simplified it to make sense to us beginners, I'm sure I'll be using you for a long time to come, thank you so much

Hey Michael, I want to sincerely thank you for your amazing tutorials and your interpretation of the music. Due to the the pandemic lockdown and having time again, I have gone back to playing the piano after nearly 30 years. It is largely thanks to your tutorials. I have now completed the Nights and Nuvole Bianchi tutorials in the past few weeks and have now started this one. You have given me back a skill I thought I had lost and I am grateful.

Excellent tutorial!! For the left hand I prefer another fingering. It's easier to take for smaller hands... So I use finger 2 instead of finger 3 (instead finger instead of middle finger). In the first Bm chord of the left hand I use the ring finger (4). In the two other chords the pinky (5). Bm chord: B, D, A fingering 4, 2, 1 A chord: A, D, A fingering 5, 2, 1 G chord: G, D, A fingering 5, 2, 1

Yeah dude, great stuff. Your'e giving the audience what they want. I love this song. I can tell Einaudi inspired you with piano as much as he did for me. One thing I do differently is I play the left hand D using my index finger, it seems to help a lot with playing the intro patterns and I feel its much more open for improvisations also... Do you improvise much over these pieces? adding your own touch to them?
@MichaelMaiber8 жыл бұрын
I mostly play the piece as it is written down. But I adjust the speed to the way I feel. Maybe some rhythmic changes here and there but not that much :)

Hi, just want to let you know your tutorial has been very useful while learning to play this song! You are a very good teacher, keep it up. I'm just wondering how I should use the sustain pedal in this piece, because on the sheet music there are hardly any markings. Should I just refresh the sustain pedal every measure unless stated otherwise? How do you use the pedal while playing this song?
@MichaelMaiber7 жыл бұрын
+arodes1 That's how I play the song. In most songs with few chords you just lift the pedal on every measure. I think that's the reason there are so few markings.
