@veracity I agree, the difference is Jordan was more iconic and Jordan’s supporting cast Pippen a Hall of famer, Hakeem didn’t get a Hall of famer teamate until Drexler was in season 13. Both Jordan and Hakeem can score in all facets but Hakeem was a better rebounder, shot blocker and defender. If Hakeem had a Pippen or both Pippen and Rodman caliber help he would of won 6 7 8 rings.

@@walemeshioye1006 well Hakeem Olajuwon is 7' 0" and plays center of course he'll get 20 boards and 10 blocks and as for Jordan 6'6" plays primarily the #2 on the perimeter but lives around the bucket getting fall/fadeaway 12 footers and driving for dunks/layups and getting steaks, rebounding is not Jordan's forte neither is shot blocking although he can stop your shot before the shooter begins to aim and fire. I always say that Hakeem and Jordan are equals at different positions in the game of basketball 🏀 and the all time 🐐 s.

As a lifelong fan of Houston sports you have to understand how we felt in 1994 when a Houston team finally broke the curse and won us a championship in the city....we had went through so many years of Oilers heartbreak in the playoffs we deserved that ring.....and then ran it back in 1995.

Baptized by Moses Malone before attending UH, played against Ewing in college, played alongside Ralph Sampson once he was drafted, beat Jabbar to make the 86 finals against the Celtics legendary front court, legendary performances vs the champion Bad Boy Pistons, beat out Barkley, Kemp, Malone, Ewing, Robinson, Shaq, in the early-mid 90s. It’s safe to say Hakeem went through a gauntlet of the deepest Centers of his generation and came out on top. G.O.A.T!!

Def the most fun Center to watch. So skilled on offense and defense. He was quick, agile and had such a great motor. This was the last year that he truly dominated on offense and defense, he declined a bit defensively by 1995, but his offensive arsenal was at peak level.

When you’re the focal point on offense and defense, you’re gonna get worn down. 7 games against the Knicks frontline in 94 and just 4 games against young Shaq in 95 is brutal. Not to mention Hakeem was fasting during part of his playoff runs. There was a significant decline in his athleticism when 96 rolled around. MJ got a much needed rest during those 2 seasons while everybody else was beating the hell out of each other. Hakeem’s performances those 2 years will have him in the talks as one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

The 2nd matchup which was the Sonics sweep the Rockets had a thinner frontline in general. The Rockets did win a championship the prior year with almost the exact same team but the Sonics had stretch bigs which was the big difference.

The Rockets were pretty similar to the Knicks defensively while offensively had the shooting and open court athleticism the Knicks didn't have, also they had the most diverse system in the league where they didn't really have a primary facilitator they played team ball which takes away what the Bulls were often effective at defensively. The Bulls in 95 didn't have much of an interior presence they weren't beating any team with a strong frontline, much less the Rockets.

If he has 600 more blocks than 2nd best Center in history and more steals than any center in history, and led the league in rebounding for a few years 2 time DPOY but should've had at least 5 more than that means he's the best defensive center in history. If he has the quickest and best footwork than any center in history, can score whenever he wants with his Dream Shake. He has an unblockable and unstoppable baseline fade away that almost always money. Can hit his free throws, and doesn't have to be under the basket to score all his points. Out played every other great center in a playoff series Ewing, Robinson, Shaq. Jabbar. If he's that dominate on offense and the best ever at defense then he's without a doubt the BEST CENTER IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA.
