My PSD and TNT trainer was a company guy. Dude was banking money. Prime also kept us running coast to coast nonstop. He also lived in Springfield so after 3 days during his hometime his FM was calling to get running again since Prime was footing my paycheck while I was just hanging around the terminal

Hey No Hippie! Thank you for making this video. So here’s my experience that happened similar to the other trainee you mentioned. Recently my trainer was going on home time he had drill ( National Guard) and also wanted to celebrate his anniversary. Prime relayed to me that the only way to continue to get paid was to allow them to pair me with another trainer. (My trainer was going to be gone for three weeks.) Unfortunately, for this young man (trainee) that you mentioned it sounds like his trainee was only going to be gone for a week or so. Which in my opinion wouldn’t make se😅to reassign him another trainer. So indeed agree that Prime or his trainer should pay him while he waits. 50,000 miles waaaay too much! I think it’s a major issue for both trainers and trainees. Even if the training process is going well 50,000 miles can wear on anyone’s mental and physical health. Because when you’re on your own truck you can take home time and make adjustments to your lifestyle as needed.

I hear you about the 50k miles. That's a long time to run and have no control over how you run, when you take time off and to remain focused

Good info. I'm starting PSD in Jan 2024 and the point of the trainer taking home time during the TNT portion is a concern of mine but as you said communication is key to understanding what to expect and plan for it. Thanks.

Long time to live in a box with another adult….. I did my 30 day training not at prime. By the 3rd week him and myself were bickering. And honestly when I got off his truck I really didn’t wanna talk to him anymore. And it was solely because we were cooped up all day everyday.

I had a trainor it was bad bad i had to leave it was politely just tense 😬 tense 😬 tense 😬 a person who sucked the life out of you just got micro managed. I had it when it seem like chore I asked if we can agree to split he said to leave he is leaving me there I said okay. FM was trying to get me back on to terminal but how do you even ride after that.

I’m over 55k tnt miles. I was told I can’t be home if I want to upgrade. I need to be on truck. However it’s been a sacrifice living off of 12.00 an hour. Not sure how much longer I can do.

Hey Lyle, that guy you are talking about being in tnt since Jan/Feb. I know who you are talking about. There is a lot more in that than you know. Talked to him myself. But I do agree the home time ready to dispatch stuff needs to be streamlined.

@nohippietruckingandtransportat I agree. I think if they want you to go over 30k then for every 30k miles they should give you 4 days paid home time. But as a trainee if you want home time several times during your training like this guy you should coordinate it with the trainer's home time. He has taken home time several times and so has his trainer.

The trainer can let the trainer run the truck solo if they trust them but it’s the trainers truck. When I was at prime my tnt trainer was gonna let me run a week solo while he was out the country but I told him just put me in a hotel 😂 I was like 70k miles in during Covid
@nohippietruckingandtransportat

I’m wondering why the trainee isn’t getting paid bc either Prime should eat it, or paying it then netting out of the truck. Something’s not right.

@cajuncoupletrucking3563
@cajuncoupletrucking3563 Жыл бұрын
Hey Lyle, they do tell them that in orientation. They tell them to call their fleet manager if they do not want to take home time when their trainer does. But you know yourself most people do not listen. They told us this about 4 times in Springfield. I know just did orientation back this past March. Like I always say to anyone who will listen and on my channel, training is more your responsibility than anyone else's. Make sure you take charge of your training and ask questions, communicate, and watch what is going on around you.

,50 000 miles have it's good and bad . The good. A traner. Can benefit. When a student is on his truck for long. Because the student can run the truck. And the trainer can rest at ease. Dan a new student. To quick .So that is something to think about . For trainers . Benefit.

The problem with the 50k is when a trainer takes time off and doesn't want to pay the trainee, and the trainee wants to stay available
