I went through training back in 2016. I started in October and finished around the end of February. My trainer took off during the holidays but that was about it. I had a great trainer, he took me from psd and tnt. He bought me dinner at least once a week, paid for my CDL and got me a headset once I passed my test. He taught me everything I needed to be a good and competent driver. Not to mention most of my training was during the winter months so I got that experience right from the start and didn’t have my first winter driving on my own.

Twizted D state the truth , I'm gonna join Prime sometime after next week and I already have my cdl, but I told them I need refreshing and a mentor because there barely any company that will draft me out of Florida. So I moved out to Houston in May of this year, so my skills of driving of the truck between last year in which I gotten my cdl and now is kinda rusty. I'm gonna need to be home sometime in the end of January or in the middle of February because me and my roommate(friend) are planning to move somewhere more cheaper because our lease is ending real soon and plus his kids will need a place to stay. Anyway I can't wait for experience driving a truck again and get my skills back to grind mode because honestly I miss driving a big truck and I'm not complaining about the 50k mile thing because everyone have to start somewhere to get their skills to prime mode.

sounds like a good program, i got into trucking a different way , i went to truck driving school and got my real cdl with no restrictions and tested on a 10 speed manual,, then i found a job , trained about a month if u count the first week of orientation, then was sent out solo and it was tuff i didnt really not much other than what i could do with the truck which wasnt much either, i stayed 90 days then got a regional job, home every 5 days for 2 off

it was one of the hardest things i ever did , i just took it day to day , load to load and kinda just one crisis to another trying to figure out what to do out there alone, but i was smart enough to try to keep cool and take all the time i needed before making a decision, i looked at it like all iwas doing was trying to earn expierience and protect my license , i didnt rush for miles or money @@TwiztedD

They want to see if you can be separated from mom. The most I ever went out for was 2 weeks otherwise all 3 companies I drove for had outbound to cover so they would get me home on weekends and during week too sometimes.

I think the training time should be based on competency, have a check list the trainer fills out, if they need extra time they can have more training

I’m more concerned with tnt because of the 50k miles I’m at prime now with my psd instructor I just don’t know how to mentally prepare myself for that big stretch and once I’m done I’ll be solo going into winter so I’m nervous any tips would be appreciated I met you on Saturday you we’re talking to my instructor

@@BigBrothaAlmighty Give yourself another ten more days just to be sure. Had a friend of mine fail the drug test you take when you pay for your cdl and he failed it. Now he had to do the SAP program before he can get his license. He was clean for thirty days but used to smoke so much weed and concentrates daily, he would’ve passed had he waited just a little longer. Do it for your own good bro, or just take an at home urine test first.

I had to move to NJ just to join Prime since I was in south FL near Naples. It's no man's land down there. Freight comes in, but hardly anything comes out of FL.

You will need the tanker endorsement but we have don't have the manuel transmission anymore
