I feel your pain....waited 8 days to upgrade...but you mentioned old trucks...I took a 2021 freightliner with 261,000 miles....two of my buddies waited for a new truck..... you can wait for a new truck...I saw new volvos, freightliners, and internationals slowly come in 1,2,3 at a time...they cost more though

No I was doing good, it was good money I just didn’t like it nor didn’t like company I had a great fleet manager if I went home for a week in half I would still get a check the next week for over 1k

Sucker born every minute is so true. Never ever ever ever ever go lease from a company. You pay 10 times for the truck and you don’t have a dime to show for it. Prime made tons of money though.

You can't Lease Purchase as a new driver upgrading. Talk to Leasing for how long you have to lease for. New trucks are also hard to come by, there is a shortage of trucks, take what you can get, then order your truck after 3 months. Maybe by then the Lease Purchase will be back and you will have the truck you want.

Dude, just go company for now. You can upgrade to lease anytime you want later when the selection is better (if I were leasing, no way would I go with an older truck!). Company will let you focus on the nuts and bolts of just driving and operating the truck, without the stress of having to learn the business side at the same time. I drive company myself. I ended up with a 2019 Cascadia with 460,000 mi on it when I upgraded. At first I was disappointed, but now I am very very happy for the experience operating an older truck and seeing just what it can do. It's been a very pleasant surprise. And on the rare times I've had a mechanical problem, the awesome thing about being company is you just get to sit back in a hotel room while the company takes care of it on their nickel. I have no regrets going company the first year.

Currently at 32 on the list been here since Monday, didn't get added to the list until this morning but I did jump up 5 places since then, started at 37. It sucks to settle for whatever you can get but at the same time I'm just ready to get out there and start making money.

In Springfield upgrading now and it’s hectic out here. Just finished day 2 of upgrading classes completed CBT’s just waiting for email back. I’ve already told myself I’ll be here waiting at least 2 weeks

Thanks for sharing this Moe, but sorry for the hassle. My plan was to upgrade immediately, but then fly home and back for the bulk of the truck wait. Does that sound like a plan that will work under current circumstances?

If you upgrade and then fly back to home to wait prime might stop the pay during that time, that was what I was told but check with your FM. It is talking about a week for the trucks to be available but it could change by the time you get here.

i am still in the process , the classes and cbt takes 2 days. then you have to wait for availability of the trucks. you still get the 900 while in the upgrade process.

24 hours they don't pay you and then they pay you layover pay it's $100 something a day $128 maybe.. the first week I upgraded my paycheck was $4,700 $7 00 and some change was for 8 days of waiting for a truck... I believe my gross was 6,000

I didn't get paid yesterday, only the residual miles I had ran since last pay period 🤔 maybe if I'm still sitting here by next Thursday I'll hopefully get a full $900

If they have a trucks with 300,000 miles on them why don't they sell them to the new operators for 70 or 80k. Crete does.
