My Inline 3 tuned really easily. It wanted to be nock high and the rest out to the left a little. I didn't fight it. Shoots like a dream. Never had a bow hold better. The grip is awesome. Easy transition coming from a carbon bow. For me it is the most repeatable grip I have ever owned.

Did you ever try using the shims to correct the horizontal tear? Almost every Inline I have set up wanted to run down hill as well. I would also agree that prime makes one of the best grips around, it’s very natural. Every bow has a little vibe and as I played with different bars I noticed the vantage bars to have a little more oscillation on the shot over some of the other options.

I have the opposite experience with the grip. It's comfortable but I get way more torque than the cheaper bow I had before it.

I purchased a Bowtech SS34 and after getting new strings on it, it just doesn't feel as smooth of a draw cycle as when I first bought it. I tried a Revex 4 vs an SS34 at my local dealer and it felt like the Revex 4 was a smoother draw and held steadier. What was your opinion on the Revex 4 vs the SS34? The appeal to the prime is the new strings every 2 years and the nano-gel grip for when it's cold and the appeal for the Bowtech is the deadlock cam for me.

So I believe both are great bows for many of reasons. The SS34 stacks hard at the front then tails off very fast, for me I don’t necessarily love that. All Bowtech’s draw like that and it’s not a negative just more of a preference on feel. I believe the Prime has a much more consistent draw cycle and that’s something I tend to prefer. It’s similar to a Mathews IMO. The free set of string and cables is another fantastic incentive when buying a prime bow especially because they are great quality unlike some other manufacturers stock strings. Bowtech’s deadlock cam system is hard to beat especially if your an at home tuner. It really saves time and energy while trying to get that Lean just right. I think both bows are great if just comes down to feel and what features stand out. The SS34 seems to have a bit more vibe and it is on the slow side overall(unless you shoot it on performance). I have not set up an SS34 for myself so I can’t unfortunately touch on its stability and accuracy. The prime however holds extremely stable and Is wildly forgiving. The farthest I’ve shot with the Revex is around 80 yards and I can say I’m pleased with what I’m seeing.

B4 the VAP SS u were more limited. I used the VAP TKO & the Victory Xtorsion which was the VAP SS in a .204. However the 95 grain stainless steel is better than aluminum but still susceptible to a failure right behind the outsert. Same goes with the Xtorsion with a 125 grain Ethics insert/outsert which I found was better. But the Valkyrie Centerpin system takes that problem away. Especially on an animal that moves & u put it into a tight shoulder shot. It just keeps going. I really like the tune on my Prime Nexus 4. So easy & with my arrow setup with a Conquest Archery Talon quiver & Control Freak stabilizer is one of the quietest I've heard. With the Xtorsion it's heavier & truly quiet as well.

85 percent let off? What’s the holding weight? Couldn’t stand the let off on the Inline series, had to push it forward, ripping my arm off every time.
@CloserOutdoors
@CloserOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
I’m getting around 11 lbs (the average pull was 72.5 lbs) of holding weight per my HS3 scale.. The bow has a much less abrupt drop into the valley than the inline series and way less effort to get it to roll forward. The cams are set at max let off and I can say let down feels very similar to that of a Mathews. Not a very big valley but really comfortable.

You stated in the beginning that you like to run the nock just a smidge high, after your first paper shot you said everything is dead level. Which is it? Nice review, just a bit confused. BTW, how did you get your UV Thumb Button to click on the dloop so effortlessly? My keeper spring is too stout and I have to help it out every time, even though my dloop is pretty rigid.
@CloserOutdoors
@CloserOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The rest is level but my nocking point is started just a smidge higher than center of the Berger hole. The only reason I do that is because I’m my tuning experience with most bows it seems to clean up some vertical issues. My Release hasn’t given me any issues like that it just slips right onto the loop. I don’t believe there is an adjustment for it either. I would definitely recommend calling Ultraview because that doesn’t sound right to me. I have the stainless version as well and it pops onto the loop just as easy..

Good review. On the Revex 4 I tried the draw felt short to me. I am usually a 29in and it felt like I would need a 29.5 on this bow. Did you experience any of that feeling or are you normally a 28.5 on everything else too?
@CloserOutdoors
@CloserOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
So I measure out around 28.5” and per bow that varies for me. I measured the actual length on the Prime and it was 28.5” right on the dot which felt perfect for me. For example on a Mathews I have to shoot a 28” mod(pulls 28.25-28.5) and I shoot 29”(pulls 28.5-28.75) off of a Hoyt. They are all different and it’s possible at different lengths the bow draws different depending on how they machined the mods.

Prime seem to be getting better and better at shooting themselves in the foot ever since the departure from single limbs and then abandonment of the dual cam system. The Centergy 33 had zero integral torque , perfectly square nock travel, zero hand shock, nice relatively narrow lateral profile, respectable IBO rating and best of all, was a consistent 'tack-driver'; so much so that I had to stop shooting multi arrow groups because 'Robin Hooding' was getting darned expensive. Yet, as they began to approach the ultimate recognisable product design, independently proven to be approaching perfection, they chose to slide away from the summit, back down to the pool of same old, same old, riddled with b.s. "major design innovations". Had they stuck with single limbs and dual cams but added adjustable modules for d.l. they would have put the G5 flag at the summit.

Great review. There seems to be some grumbling over the DL specific mods vs the rotating mod. I personally like the mod system of the Revex. More efficient for specific draw lengths. I recently purchased a closeout Inline. It tuned easy and shoots great. Considering the lawsuit with Hoyt over a name (Inline) causing Prime to completely retool, it looks like they have a winner with the Revex. The draw cycle has been refined and from the looks of it and tuning is non-issue. It also sounded really quiet. I think if people will just shoot this bow it will turn some heads.

I couldn’t agree more! One of the biggest issues in the industry is too many consumers stay brand loyal and won’t give other great brands a try. I see marketing grabbing more people than the actual product as well. Everyone makes a great bow these days and I think a lot of brands like prime get over shadowed.

@@CloserOutdoors As new archer, I went from a Mission Switch to a Mathews TRX 38 G2. There was just something about the 38 that didn’t get along with me. Demo’d the Revex 4 and instantly placed my order for that and treated myself to the Hamskea Epsilon. Can’t wait.
