@@BabyBackManiac interestingly enough I think my roast was a little too small. I had a 2.5lb bone in from the very end piece (loin end).I'd call it a steak for 2 at a fancy joint. The 2 of us finished every bite! I ran it hotter cause I needed to have dinner ready ( 375*) I pulled it @ 121* degrees, (45 ish min cook) and rested it for 20 min while I grilled the asparagus. Then I got the gasser ripping hot and seared the outside (after 20 min of resting) so I didn't overcook it. It turned out excellent. Completely pink medium rare through out. I never tried to cook a huge "steak" that way but now I think it's my go to method! I've done plenty of reverse sear cooks on the kettle, but never a gas grill. If I had a like 4-7lb roast it would forsure come out like a prime rib. In my case I just found the best way to cook a steak for 2 using a gasser! I think if I let the meat go to 125* it would have definately came out more medium medium well in the end. 121* I'll stick to it everytime! Thanks for the idea!

Na, Worcestershire is the county. Worcester, is the town inside the county where Worcestershire sauce is made. Either way can be right, but unanimously “Wuster” over here. Or if we said it as written on the bottle, Wuster - Shire (shy-er) but hey doesn’t matter, you can’t say tomato or aluminium properly either but you knock us into the stratosphere when it comes to bbq. Love the channel, keep up the great work, I’ve learned so much from your great channel.

I usually remove my prime ribs at about 120-125° and foilwrap it and cover it in a beach towel for about a half hour.. that let's it coast up to about 130-135°.

Looks beautiful, just don't turn into Hank the propane expert on us now. I'm going to try one this weekend on my offset. I will use that 150 F point of reference you mentioned. Wish me luck

Well done! Video, not the roast! I wish we had those "cold" temps you have up her in Canada. I have had to clear my driveway of snow 5 times so far. My Kamado Joe is frozen closed.

One of my favorite bbq channels! Love the at night cook. What knife / cutting board was that? Have you ever done a bbq tools video? That was still mooing!
@BabyBackManiac
@BabyBackManiac 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you. That cutting board was given to me by pork belly wood works. they have a site on facebook. If you tell them the code word "maniac" they should give you a little discount. The knife is a cheap but very popular slicer on amazon. I've been thinking about gettin it for 10 years. I wish I would have because it used to be $39 bucks and I had to pay $50. lol. Here's an affiliate link if you are interested. amzn.to/2Eb03oB

Yes, During the first part of the cook.Then I make a judgment call on whether it needs a sear at the end. This one did especially underneath.

How long would it take to cook an 11lb prime rib on the Genesis?
@BabyBackManiac
@BabyBackManiac 5 жыл бұрын
Not sure. Too many variables. Probably between 3 and 4 hours but it all depends on the shape of the roast and the temperature in the cooker. You need to use an internal meat thermometer to nail it.
