I've found old calendars to be basically dead weight. The only ones that actually sell are the pin-up/girly calendars and those almost always have to be real-photo-nudes.Those sell great. Just a random scenic calendar advertising something from 1940 or 1950-whatever is probably going to sit around forever.

Omg I would’ve LOVED to shop there. Mostly for me, and maybe some for resale but mostly ME. Seriously wouldn’t mind owning 65% of everything I saw on here so whoever lived there I really jive with the same stuff they liked. Even the pocket watches. Can’t see the brands because they’re not focused on but I like at least 6 of them. No idea if more contemporary musical pocket watches hold value but definitely older antique ones do due to the extra amount of mechanisms needed to squeeze in there. I didn’t look up the Tasmanian one and idk if you did, but seeing it said “musical” caught my attention. Wrist watches are more valuable than pocket watches sure but I still like them both. Especially if either have the fancy perpetual calendars, moon phases, etc. though I don’t own anything like that . Sometimes I’ll use a simple 1930’s pocket watch. 😂 But quality antique pocket watches with tunes or chimes for the time (would’ve helped the blind back then) I know are decent priced even for a pocket watch. Just a heads up on that but again I’m talking true antique since I know nothing about Looney Toon levels of the modern time keeper. 😅heh

What a awesome haul Dom. I really don't want to know what they had on the first day. Estate sales in my region are 99% run by relatives, so whatever is for sale they want gone. Whatever had value to them, they already picked so they don't really hang on to most items.

What I like about garage Sales and estate sales. Is when I make on average greater then 100 percent on my money. Many times an item will sale for 1900 percent profit or more. Example, world war 2 scarf, with all the bomber units on it,made of silk. Paid 50 cents, sold for 100 dollars . But you have to do your homework. Knowledge is key to success. Let me know what you find...would love the stories.

I used to think the same way. My dad was an “eBay seller” for years and had rooms floor to ceiling. My wife and I started 4 years ago and we both do it full time now. Our sales are growing honestly. It’s all about getting the right stuff, doing the work, and pricing to sell… not sit. Most people mess up one of those things. Work ethic, knowledge, pricing. We have friends that sell stuff but don’t make money and we have friends that have house/ garage full of stuff. Just like any other job you have to be qualified and do the work.
