It added to frenchie's character only that he is messed up as we saw before season 4 , they had great build up with kimiko but that dissapeared because some guy just appeared from nowhere behind the scenes. Nobody cares about their relationship because it came from nowhere behind the scenes and now it is probably done , so wasted time in each episode of season 4. It added nothing just an useless filler which was not needed , maybe it will after the whole season 4 is out but i doubt it.
