@@Agent-KD6-3.7 It's kind of implied in the little animated flashback that Mindstorm's powers aren't as effective on Soldier Boy. In the flashback, he uses his powers on him, but it only seems to cause him a lot of pain in his head and didn't actually put him to sleep like it does other people. So, it's very likely that Supes like Soldier Boy aren't really that affected by Mindstorm's powers, but it still causes pain and likely confusion, which is why Soldier boy threw a knife in his eye, and then covered his head with a bag so he couldn't use his powers on him.

On paper it sounds like something they should have included but wrt to the characters, I think there is just no way to make it meaningful and satisfying. Noir is the last member alive who could give Soldier Boy any answers. But he is also so braindamaged, he can't talk, which Soldier Boy doesn't know about. The meeting would have just been super awkward, Soldier Boy demands answers and Noir is silent. Soldier Boy would also beat him very easily, demand answers again and then Noir is still silent. Maybe Soldier Boy would remove the mask and realise why Noir can't talk but what would he even do with that realization? He never showed any empathy or introspection into what he did to others, so why would we start in the final episode? It would also be pointless to give him character development in the moment right before they put him on ice. The episode was already packed. I think it was more economical to use the death of Noir for a Homelander moment instead. It was the moment Homelander turned away from the Seven as a family substitute and toward his blood relatives instead.

One thing that always puzzled me is that when he first uses his chest power, he directly shot at a single person, but later on every other time, he simply just explodes everything around him like a bomb. Maybe in season 4 he’ll be able to direct it and control it to fire off in a general direction? I hope so anyway.

This series is a f-cking MASTERPIECE. Both the protagonists and antagonists are incredibly likeable and their motives so fleshed down to the point of making the audience empathize with even the most grotesque and f-cked up sh-t they're constantly doing in order to accomplish their goals. We DON't want to see any of them lose or being killed off. It's truly one of the greatest franchises of our time. This is a story about fathers and sons. Soldier Boy, Homelander, Butcher, and now Ryan are one and the same. The generational trauma permeates every inch of the screen everytime one of them shows up. This is not good vs evil anymore, it's about growth vs regret. The season finale will be remembered as one of the greatest moments of TV history. Soldier Boy inability to prove his abusive father wrong, Homelander's longing to have the perfect family/team supporting his delusions, and Butcher's constant suffering under the self-inflicted guilt of not being able to protect his loved ones. Flawed characters are BEST characters.

It feels a bit frustrating that we didn't get a Black Noir Soldier Boy showdown. I mean, I love the direction the shows been taking, but that would have been so freaking epic. It would have been great to see Noir going all out, even though he probably wouldn't have lasted long. He'd been this near unstoppable force, aside from the nuts, so having him get pummelled by Soldier Boy one on one would have been fantastic to illustrate just how strong Soldier Boy is. Maybe he wants to make Noir suffer and underestimates him, with Noir finally having the courage to confront him it would have been a great moment. He was the most competent member of the 7 and it just feels like he got done a bit dirty, although I happily concede that Homelander killing the closest thing he had to a friend, only to have it prove fruitless really compounded Soldier Boy's rejection!

​@@justinmoody9164He wasn't knocked down by a tripwire, he lost his footing and fell because of a landmine. Unless I'm misremembering the scene, SB wasn't knocked out, just down. It's basic physics. If you're infinitely strong but you weigh 100 kilos, an explosion with 110 kilos of force will still move you if you're not bracing for it. Maeve would also be knocked down. Homelander can fly so gravity and physics probably work different for him, but if everything else was the same and he couldn't fly, but was then launched the same way he'd also be knocked down.
