I think it's very realistic. Frenchie has been a heavy user for years. If they lived a normal life he might want to try and sober up. But they are constantly in exceptionally stressful and life threatening situations. Not ideal circumstances to check into rehab.

Actually I have a question why every time billy butcher takes Temp v his powers active only for 24 hours but yumiko's powers never last

Kimiko had a permanent compound V given to her before she was born. She lost her powers when soldier boy used his energy attack on her. She regained them permanently when she took temp V because she always had some from before her birth. Butcher didn’t have powers when he was born so temp V is only a short time for him.

In the comics they didnt exactly have a happy ending. Butcher went mad with power after Hughie, MM, Himself and Frenchie shot themselves up with Compound V and gave them powers to fight the supes. Long story short, Butcher blew them up... Thank god this series is deviating from the Trainwreck it was inspired from bc goddamn it was horrible plot wise. Why the hell are there so many soldier boys?!
