Btw even what assumably seems classical in this song is also auto tuned! Auto tune isn't a bad thing it's just a part of digital recording and mixing criteria which has earned a bad name due to lack of its actual application. However, yes certain people with petty vocal skills have taken it to far extents to treat their pitch cosmetically. But a cultured ear can easily make the difference between a well trained and mediocre voice. So not to blame the auto tune si much if the ear of the listener is seasoned enough. Because auto tune is everywhere now. It's a standardized procedure and part of digital recording

@@pious_liquid_for_immortality Hi there, I don't wish to create an argument but yes I am a classically trained musician, composer and music producer with over 16 years of experience. It's my job and I do this on a daily basis so it's quite clear to my ears. General audience can never make out as the ear needs training and temperament. Also there is emotion and belief of general people which I don't want to step on as this is also an art of micing and mastering where the work is done in way that normal'audience can't make out he difference so easily Therefore, i just made remarks. However, you are free to beleive what you like, no problem in that. Because that was the whole point of the mix engineer to create an illusion of sound which he did quite well. There is no shame in Auto tune as it is a part of procedure to match out the cent value. It's like drawing a free hand line with accuracy up to an atom which is not possible by any human as it is not human. There are always errors and deviation which even trained musicians can't make out mostly. If there aren't then it is not a human voice. So auto tune or pitch correction is done to level out those micro frequency deviation which may create beats in the mix. Also there is a huge chain of professing such compressor, multi presser, de-esser, gating, reverb and exciter which is added to mic it up to the over all track It's too technical so I won't go in much details. So no offense😊. One needs to understand the digital production to actually understand these technical stuff including auto tune which is kind of mis understood by most people as derogatory. ( However, some people misuse it also which is another case)

I started this series at 9 PM on Saturday night and couldn't resist myself to compete and watched all episodes till 4 AM. Thank to Shankar mahadevan for amazing music and all singer OMG this was at different level. Last jugalbandi sung by Muhammad Aman and Farid Hasan. unbelievable singing and than performed by these on on screen I had tears in my eyes and had had goosebumps. There was a time when Indian non-film music used to be awesome. Be it classical, pop or fusion. Ask any kid of 90s like me, we would not be able to get over Classical music based albums of Shubha Mudgal, Sultan Khan et all. In fusion Colonial Cousins rocked. And in pop it was Silk route, Euphoria made our teens a bliss. Long gone are those days. Since 2010s music has been so much monopolized by bollywood and polluted by overuse of electronic sound , soulless tunes and monotonous beats (off-course there are sporadic exceptions) . This one felt like a breeze of fresh air after a long time. Thanks Shankar-Ehsan-Loy for reminding India what popular music can be.

But, my point doesn't come from a place of need for validation from "foreigners" about my own culture and heritage... instead, it comes from the place of me wanting to share this soulful and ancient music of the gods (mostly the indian-classical present in the web series) with the rest of the world. & If people didn't share anything with one another, there wouldn't be any culture whatsoever on the face of this earth. And talking of the dialogues being multilingual in the web-series...we should be proud that we have accepted every language that has graced our nation. We haven't left Hindi behind and took on English as our only sole language instead, we made a synergy of the two!

While listening to this album I was scrolling down the comments and I saw so much love for the music, story, characters and everything that has gone into creating this master piece. Shankar Ehsan Loy is like सौ सोनार की, एक लोहार की| Amazing! Shoutout to the story writer, screenplay writer and the director for balancing the fusion so well nothing overpowering other. @@nayan.j Technically speaking the Jugalbandi was out of the world. The taan at the end felt superhuman to me. But techniques and emotions are different. What is tougher to sing may not more appeasing to hear. If that had been true, classical singers with putr talent would've got more attention than these auto tune singers. It's like Eminem's Rapgod to me... I appreciate it and I accept it is very tough to sing like that, but doesn't sound pleasant to my ears.
