The instructions make it look so easy. When I flipped over Unicron I was confused that there wasn’t a hole or slot big enough for the stand. I just received my Unicron and I was confused for 20 minutes about how to put it on the stand. Thank you for this video explaining how the attach the planet to the stand. An hour after watching this video I did find the instructions to fold in the flap to attach the stand in the instructions. It is on the last page of the instructions hilariously. You would think that that would be in the first few pages but it is not.

I just saw a video on the Zeta Toys version of Blitzwing and it looks way better than the pictures suggest. The transformation is similar to the Mechanical Alliance one but looks way more enjoyable. It looks like the robot cleans up a little better. Paint detail is still great but its definitely not as detailed As the MA. Still masterpiece quality and definitely recommended over the MA if you like to convert your figures a lot. Hope you review it as well.

You're right about the insane price of Unicron compared to someone like Scorponok, who is semi-comparable in size but not what went in to their construction. I have a little knowledge about the behind the scenes aspects of projects like this, but essentially you need to look at how many individually pieces of plastic had to be molded and created to assemble the figure, how many of those pieces are actually multiple pieces either screwed, snapped, or glued together, and just how much plastic is being used in them. I hate the hollow plastic look of so many transformers recently, but the price of plastic is so insane that I understand the reason it's done. A solid chunk of plastic for a part is astronomical in its cost. That's also the reason transformers have been getting smaller over time. And then paint apps can add an even crazier multiplier on costs; how many colors of paints used, how many individual parts are painted, and how many different applications of paint on each part, all add up to crazy cost increases. There's actually a decent amount of paint work being done on Unicron that's not really obvious, not to mention the sheer number of plastic parts, and overall plastic used, in his construction (just go by his weight compared to Scorponok). And then finally, look at the number of Unicrons being made. The more they make, the less expensive he'll be, but Unicron, compared to any mainline figure, is quite limited, which forces that cost up even more. So without going into specifics, yeah the price on this thing hurts, but honestly it's about in the range of what I expected based on how much STUFF is going on to build a single figure. Comparing him to another figure of roughly the same size is in no way any indication of a "fair price", but as you mentioned, the weight is actually probably a bit better to go by.

I can tell that it would take roughly two SS Devastator to build up to at least the height of Haslab Unicron, but I can tell, that it'll take more than that to build up to the weight. I did measure SS Devastator, and he is roughly around 15.5in. tall. What do you think PrimevsPrime?

I think studio cell is a much more important creation than Haslab Unicron. I own both and the engineering marvel of Zeta deserves much more praise than the awkward appearance is H.U. I think Haslab should've made the kibble removable, especially on the legs.

looks wise yes, but we can't deny the haslab is easier to transform since it's just a giant plastic kinder-egg shellformer, so if you play with it a lot the Studio Cell version may get annoyingly complex

Essentially, Haslab Unicron is generations-quality. It’s a Hasbro figure, it’s still kid friendly. Cell is Masterpiece quality, for better or for worse.

Honestly, I’m kind of relieved I couldn’t back this. It is mind-blowing, but the price and the size are the biggest (no pun intended) issues for me. Unicron is supposed to be enormous, I know, but I have nowhere to keep it. And I like playing with my figures, but it seems like this is more or less intended to be a display piece.
