I know for Shockwave, the price put off a ton of people, so I have no doubt the price will put the same people off for this one. But I’m definitely picking this guy up. Astrotrain is one of my favorites. His voice in the G1 cartoon was so unique.

Honestly I think the Astrotrain is awsome but I just wish that there were lighter shades of Gray or white around the figure and not just a monochrome grey transformer. I'm so happy that they already made an Astrotrain. I don't like the shuttle tho.

I just got this figure and man, it's beautiful. I think it's a Leader class simply because of the amount of plastic used with all of the accessories. I'm sure you've figured that out now, considering this is 3 years old (and apparently, your video just stated as much, lol).

Finally got mine friday. Been waiting in anticipation for him, love me some astrotrain. He's lots of fun in my opinion. Aught to be a few more inches on it for sure and something rally needs to be done about the rear of shuttle mode. Also I'm perplexed about the tender's side hinges, they exist for a purpose I'm sure but i haven't figured it out yet, maybe someone knows... Great review as always, thanks!

So he comes with snow shoes. Useful on cybertron and in space 🤣 I like him. He’s always been an interesting one scale and transformation wise. I think it’s really cool and the coal cart/base is a great addition. Cool review. Love hearing a fellow fan gush over the details.

Wish some of the kibble were panels to cover the skeletal mid section of the shuttle mode & or the hollow limb sections. Always loved the steam engine train mode & ecstatic that it is not a bullet train. Huge fan Blitzwing & will have to get an Astrotrain eventually, maybe this is it? Admittedly I love the figure in it's robot, and train alt mode, the shuttle form through me off a little with the square sections around the nose cone, overall it's a great rendition of one of our favorite triple changers

The engineering and look of this figure is equal to a commander class, and astrotrain is worthy of the commander class size..HE TURNS INTO A FRIGGIN TRAIN AND SPACE SHUTTLE!! AND EVEN AS A LEADER HE'S TOO DANG SMAAALL!! Doesn't change the fact the figure is amazing and I likey

With all due respect to G1, I think Astrotrain should've been a commander class. I mean, in the Netflix series Astrotrain looked huge! It would be nice to place him side by side with Skylynx in shuttle mode.

This is pretty much the same figure in robot mode that’s already been released! I have the Takara Tomy Version of Astrotrain and feel no need to pick up this guy. I would however pick up this guy if I could get him cheap like maybe $20 just to display the train mode. Just my opinion. Thanks for posting this!

My only 2 complaints are the size of the figure and that his shuttle mode launches upwards when Shuttles takeoff typically using another plane and a runway.

Quite honestly the "it's not as big" argument is a bit shallow. You want leader class like the PotP Rodimus Prime? That monstrosity entire made of terrible plastic and bad engineering? We are really thinking that this Astrotrain is worse than that or that cardboard cutout Optimus Prime that had the saving grace of resembling MP10? Are we forgetting that most Leader class of the previous lines didn't even had waist articulation? Sorry, but i take the good engineering and the fact that everything scales correctly to Sunbow chart any day. I might add that it looks better than most third party alternatives, mostly because their design usually end up looking like bad fanarts.

as hyped as i was for this figure, i am a bit disappointed in it. the arm joins not locking in are very offputting, his lack of size is another aspect. the shuttle mode proportions are weird, the bulk of the front misaligned with the cockpit, and hollow thin rear makes it look like his shin pieces ares supposed to move around and cover the back instead. however train mode looks amazing and is really impressive how they managed to hide it so well and make such a clean mode

On mine anyway, the purple square the arm is on will click in firmly with the armpit tab at bottom, not tabbing into a slot but just holding as the bottom of the square. I have to put his arm pointing down and give it a firm straight squeeze and click it goes and locks tight.

Train mode is the mode that suffered the most, the smoke box is to small and the pilot wheels in the front doesn't even line up with the driving wheels, and the tender looks off but for what this guy is he's pretty dope and I really hope we get more train transformers like more steam engines

Train mode is my favorite. Also, mine arrives on Saturday I think Edit: he arrived yesterday! also, in humanoid form his wings can snap back farther than you had it, which allows his arms to swing back farther.

They don't really tab but if you see the tab bit under the arms, the purple armbase is square and does actually click in. I have to put his arm down and give it a good firm straight push and click it goes. When they're out of place/not clicked firmly enough it's a bit frustrating.
