Welding for over 50 years (mainly TIG, stick, oxy-acetylene), wanted a TIG for my personal use. After a lot of research 3 years ago I was between this machine and an Everlast. Price, quality, and customer service won me over to Primeweld. Got the machine, the Maxcool 3000, and the CK 20 torch with 25’ hoses. Have not regretted it at all. Use the TIG button almost 100% of the time Since that time, a MIG180 and a CUT60 have joined the ranks along with accessories from Primeweld including the 125 cubic foot bottle of argon, up from my previous 80 cubic bottle, dual flowmeter and 25’ hose, 25’ extension chord, 15’ MIG torch, among others. Cannot go wrong with Primeweld.

You, your channel and your last PrimeWeld machine were the catalyst for me to pull the trigger and purchase one of their machines for myself. Thanks 6061, thanks PrimeWeld. Being a neophyte there’s lots of practice & materials I have yet to consume.

@@6061 That's really generous, and I'd like to support you/your channel after subscribing for a while. Your channel is a big part of what's convinced me to get into TIG after using only flux-core MiG for years. My biggest issue, and I know I'm not alone in this, is that I only have a 20-amp 120v circuit in my garage. I'm researching the adapter you showed and it looks like I should be okay as long as I keep the amperage on the output down. Ideally I'd like to know before I buy it whether I'd be able to join 1/8" aluminum on 120v as that's the thickest I think I'll be working with. If you made another video with a Kill-A-Watt or similar showing the wall draw I think that would convince a lot of people besides me too.

I did my apprenticeship in an aluminum shop tig welding cabinets and fuel cells. When I saw the thumb nail of your dime stacks i instantly clicked. I’ve had severe nerve damage in my hands from welding, mainly thick pressure vessels and tanks. I haven’t welded in almost 10 years but my boys are really interested. I went to my local supply store couple months ago and instantly got kicked in the nuts with the price of a new miller. Like it hurt. Really looking forward to pulling the pin on a primeweld for my kids homeschool garage. Look after your hands guys

I bought a 225 last year on a black friday sale. I got one of your Tig buttons to go with it. I've been happy with it so far. Last time I tigged anything was in like 96 on an old ass Lincoln so I basically started from scratch skill wise. I'm slowly getting the hang of it. Also wanted to say I am enjoying your videos lately with the narration/explanation 🤘🤘

I love my primeweld tig 225x. Have been using it daily for almost 3 years now. No complaints. We typically only use it for DC at low amps for welding thin wall titanium (0.028"). Done some stainless, mild, and aluminum on it all with nothing but great things to say.

How do you rate the dynasty series, vs the new HTP and the prime weld? I have a 20-year-old dynasty 200 that I love but when I think of upgrading, I just can't see spending 10G on a miller when i can get the HTP for (i think) half of that or possibly the prime weld for under a grand?? What are your thoughts?
@6061
@6061 7 ай бұрын
Dynasty Top notch (better weld appearance) HTP/PrimeWeld very good, but aluminum weld appearance isn't quite as nice. It's a little "grainy" looking in a side by side comparison to the Dynasty using identical settings.

It's brittle. The best way to shorten it is with a grinding wheel. You gently cut the whole way through.

Question for you boss. I have this exact tig prime 225x. I'm getting a mig machine with a din electrode jumper between negative positive. Just using it as a no frills, wire feeder. The ground and plus are derived directly from the 225x. I just patch the jumper over and use the ground directly, or depending if i use flux. As this abomination of a setup is used, what do you recommend for settings when it comes to various wire consumable types?

What is the difference between the button that came with the machine to the one you use?
@avmech2126
@avmech2126 7 ай бұрын
Button that comes with the machine is an on/off button, either off or at the amperage machine is set at. TIG button (I use one) does the same thing the foot pedal does…..you can vary the amperage as you weld. I use it just about 100% of the time.

I can build up an edge of 20 Gauge steel (0.030 roughly) and 0.035 filler and the bead is just wider than the base material if that helps.

I tried to buy a Primeweld machine a couple of years ago, and they wouldn't sell to me and said they wouldn't support one in Australia. So, I bought a WIA machine... never got to use it because I got sick and gave it away because I didn't think I would be well enough in the future to use it. Now I have recovered, I'm on the lookout for a machine. I would love one of those, because I agree with @DaneSaysStuff, that they are great quality, but I expect the same conditions would apply.
