Caleb wear a respirator buddy. That aerosol paint causes lung damage. Safety first. Looking good. Mine is also dookie brown primer color right now. Thinking I'll paint it when dry fall weather comes. I brushed and rolled my primer coat. Believe me the sprayer was worth it.

Yeah I know. :-/ Im not the greatest about that stuff. Im starting to get better but still terrible. but haha! its such a terrible color. yeah I think the sprayer was the right call but we did go through 5 rolls of tape... lol

@@BackroadPurpose for your top coat if you use a hardener additive, definitely wear a respirator, even to mix. That stuff is really nasty. Good result but very dangerous to inhale. This safety stuff catches up with you later. You don't want to be carrying an oxygen tank when you're 55.

sprayer rocks,,ive seen too many people give up on the, and just roll it on

Totally. It's a bit intimidating at first but I'm glad I went this route.

you might want to look into Implement paint it's a lot cheaper than car paint you can find it at farm stores

That’s what we used on our bus! Ford blue and gloss white!!
@BackroadPurpose3 жыл бұрын
Yeah We looked into it. We just ended up going with and oil paint and it seems like some solid paint so I guess we'll see in a few months.

Wow! That looks so great!! You’re moving in about a month before us! We are closing on our house the first week of October. Would love to meet on the road sometime. Maybe even do a build together at some point. My husband is a welder if you would need that kind of help. (Here I am offering his services and I didn’t even ask him lol! I’m just so excited to meet other #buslife people!) Great primer job there! It’s coming along nicely! We had to do the brush/roller route because we have the bus parked at a storage facility and didn’t want to spray other people’s property. We aren’t in love with the texture, but like you said, we won’t cry if it gets scratched!! Next bus we build will totally be sprayed!

Thats so exciting! Congrats. Its a scary feeling but it'll all work out. but yes! We're totally interested. We're not going to be doing too much traveling since I still don't have an entirely remote job so we'll be hanging out in Charleston for a good bit.

Backroad Purpose we don’t have road jobs figured out yet either. We’re going to just make it up as we go along! Haha! Jeff said he’d be glad to help out with whatever welding fellow bus people need. He’s currently doing nuclear grade welding for the Navy but has experience in installations, fabrication, and “field work” as well. I do copywriting/editing and a bit of marketing so between the two and being willing to do all sorts of random odd job/gigs, I think we will do ok.

Great job. I plan on painting my bus with a tintable spray-on bed liner. Not sure which one and not sure what color yet but I decided on the bed liner finish due to its durability and somewhat stealthy appearance because I plan on doing a lot of off-grid living. The sprayer comes with the kit, and the price is quite reasonable too.
@BackroadPurpose3 жыл бұрын
Oh nice! We thought about doing bedliner but just decided on Oil paint instead. We dont plan to drive too too much so we just wanted a not yellow bus. I think this paint will hold up pretty well but only time will tell!

Good paint sprayers are worth every penny IMO. Rolling SUCKS

I believe you are correct. Its the tool you didnt know you needed.

You painted the chrome? And the rubber? But why?
@BackroadPurpose3 жыл бұрын
Because I didnt want it to be chrome and then I resprayed the black. The rubber is stiff so the new paint holds well. It was more flexible than it would just crack off.

Awesome! I’ll gladly spend 200$ myself for this result too!
