Tell Jason to get a trolling motor. I have a $90 30 lb MinnKota on a canoe and it'll cruise 4-5 knots easy, but I'm dreaming about a small Gheenoe and that Tohatsu 6HP. Most people trailer that combo, but I want to be able to roof top carry, so the reason for the 6HP. We love to camp at Ft Desoto and I fish the south side of that channel. St. Peterburtg to be exact. If you live in Florida you may be able to get there. The Fort De Soto boat ramp has a 5 dollar fee for overnight parking. Hey Erick planning to go to Fort DeSoto Campground and want to hang out on Shell Key. Question: on the way to shell key in my 12 foot MARS do you lock or unlock the tilt in case of hitting shallow water?
@ErickMartinSucre4 жыл бұрын
Nice trip that will be. I am going to be camping at the Fort De Soto campground myself next weekend. I leave mine unlocked in the event I hit an even shallower area. It will prevent any heavy damage to it. It's super easy to get to the island since it's only 1 mile away you'll get there really quick. When you beach at the island be careful getting out of the boat since the current there can sometimes get strong.

That was a limited budget edition Saturn put out few years back. It is called the BB290. It is squared and it gives the impression that it is bigger than it actually is. Feels like an 11 footer but it is actually a 9.6 feet long boat.

I’m thinking about the SB385 but not definite yet. I’m also looking at the 15 HP or the 9.9 hp for it. I will mostly have 2 people per trip but sometimes there could 4. Not sure if the 9.9 will get it up on plane.
