I continue hiking and exploring this beautiful wilderness as the search for a location to establish a new settlement continues. My primitive tools have been useful for basic necessities and I’ve found several good natural resources along the way. Today in this video I make another simple shelter and then find some wild food to cook. As I explore more of the area I even find clay in the soil and this discovery raises my hopes of building a nice hut very soon. This series will be ongoing so be sure to stay tuned for the next video.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):
Who films you?
Me. I travel alone, shoot, edit, upload, everything, all alone. On a few occasions I may be accompanied by a friend.
How many cameras do you use?
Usually I use just one camera. When I have underwater scenes then I also use a GoPro camera. I get different angles by moving the camera around and repeating the action to create a more cinematic viewing experience for the audience.
Where is this place?
In order to protect the integrity of the natural landscape I prefer to be very vague about the locations I use. There are places that I used to visit that were so beautiful and untouched but the consequences of social media brought all kinds of people to visit and sadly some people do not respect nature and have badly damaged these places. Therefore I do not share locations.
Where did you get your sandals?
I first started wearing sandals on outdoor adventures in February 2014. I’m so glad that I did because wearing these Luna Sandals has really helped strengthen my feet. You can see their selection of adventure and running sandals at this link: www.lunasandals.com/?rfsn=102...
(Note: I receive an affiliate commission from any sales derived from clicking on the link above)
Do you workout?
Yes, I workout, but not in a gym. I have some weights that I use and also do a lot of bodyweight exercises. I also run and sometimes swim. I hike frequently to collect wild foods and to shoot these videos so I'm very active all the time.
Are you vegan or vegetarian?
I wish I could maintain my health on a primal diet that does not include animals but unfortunately that did not work well and I ended up with health problems as a result of those attempts. From my studies, observations of nature, and personal experience I have come to believe that the best diet for optimal human health is a primal diet (paleo).
Do you get lonely when you’re alone?
No, I don’t get lonely. I’m actually so busy shooting video, taking photos and doing so many other things like making cordage, cooking, weaving, etc. that I really don’t have time to think about my lonely condition. Sometimes when something profound happens on an adventure I can’t wait to share it with people, but other than that I do not get lonely.
How many languages do you speak?
My first language is English but I also speak fluent Spanish and Portuguese. I also speak very little Russian. I may soon begin learning more languages.
How old are you?
I was born in 1972. At the time of this video I was 48.
Where did you get the music in your videos?
This series is the first one that I am making all the music myself. I recently made a drum and maracas (rumba shaker). I am now using them to create the intro and ending music in my videos, but before in the past I have used royalty free music from several sources including KZbin. Sometimes I bought the music but usually it was free.
My equipment:
Camera: Nikon D7500
Sound: Zoom H4N
Editing: Final Cut Pro X on MacBook Air
Location: Parts Unknown

What a great video. It's like a movie or film. The cinematic nature of the shots and the cuts he is doing is very tedious but still come off very well and seem worth the effort. I am very excited for the journey ahead and what cool and wonderful things we will see and be apart of not just as the audience but interacting and hoping that something good comes from that. I know a lot of people join me in saying we really appreciate the skill built and the level of effort taken to bring this to us and essentially to carry us around with him whenever he needs to shoot. Those night skies and the wonderful western landscape and the great care in showing us these wonders of nature is definitely something to not just subscribe to because it's obligatory but because it's more than earned and deserves the attention brought to it for very obvious reasons and the spirit definitely comes through. Thank you can't wait for more.

For me this really gave me insight in the evolution of mankind. In the sense that seeing you "struggle" with basic things is keeping mankind so occupied that there wasn't much room to worry about greater things. But the tendency to want better made us do better and each time life became more comfortable, there was more room to worry about more and more complicated things. And so on. Basically the whole Maslow pyramid idea but it really hit me seeing this video. Thank you!
@ChadZuberAdventures
@ChadZuberAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
I’m so glad you see that. It’s so true and has become ever so apparent through this experience. Basic survival was a full time job and the human desire to make life more comfortable, more convenient, and more pleasurable has existed for thousands of years, and we have become very good at achieving those goals, but those same desires lead us to self destruction and death. That is our dilemma.

At 9:08 we are able to calculate your approximate latitude based on the angle between Sirius and Alnitak ( in Orion's Belt). Also with the relative location of the nearby moon in Gemini we can determine that this was filmed on or around April 19th. Furthermore, given your camera specs and exposure settings, we can ascertain the time of night based on the limiting factor of the visible stars ( compared to the background light pollution in this region) and from this get a rough idea of the longitude. Based on these calculations, we can find your approximate location when we compare this region of the globe to that in the wide vista shot of the terrain at 0:54. In other words, we will see you soon ! j/k ;) Keep up the amazing work, Chad !

Боже мой, I'm so thrilled to hear YOUR DRUM. You know no one else has a drum like that one, don't you? I didn't tell you; the strongest sound is to strike directly in the center, but halfway between the rim and the center is a note a little quieter, but a musical fourth deeper. You found that out anyway. You know what a thrill that was for me? This was like seeing a student's recital and he's done much better than you'd have hoped. The maraca was a really nice touch. I liked it. I like the bone buttons very much. But where you put them getting a close-up was hard! (no pun intended) Is the bone that tan color all the way through? It's wonderful.

In this episode, the drum sounds different than before. The sound is less low, more "flat".

@@haudtalis5036 he got the head a little tighter. He might have more water in it too. But it's clearly the same pot drum as before. It's definitely not some new-age group with a plastic shaman drum. This one is REAL.

I am so excited to watch these videos he makes. Relaxes me and to watch such beautiful scenery, camera work, editing and so on is just magical about it. I appreciate each video he makes and he always leaves me wanting more and more to watch. I recall watching his Adobe hut series and I am super exited for him to start another, seeing him grow as an outdoors man and things becoming easier on him in time from experience. I don’t know how you do this Chad, but you sure as hell impress me every time I view it brother. Happy hunting and stay safe out there.
