People are acting like there weren't any primitive based KZbin channels before primitive technology. It's a good formula and primitive skills is doing it justice.
@munchkin567411 ай бұрын
Funny huh? 6 years in the future from this video there are countless KZbin channels teaching and demonstrating primitive type survival skills and bushcraft skills. Thats ok! Each of them may bring a new opinion or varied version on how to do the same skill. If you get in the mind set that a primitive skill can only be done a certain way, then you really limit yourself and your ability. Its the same with all the many varied ways to create an ember and then fire.

I don't care about who's copying who, they're all copying early humans anyways XD

@American Restoration Initiative some channels put those in the closed captions. But that normally shows up in long running ones.
@falsefight4 жыл бұрын
Its not like their approach or results are identical, either. Add to that the fact that truly "copying" another channel is not doing what they are doing, but uploading another person's video as your own. It is clear that they are different people
@ajayshrivastava70804 жыл бұрын
Well what is the meaning of XD
@Thejigholeman4 жыл бұрын
y'know what..... you make a very good point. all this shit about "he copied primitive technology" and "she copied primitive skills" and what not, but we are all forgetting, they are just doing what humans did in the past. infact, the entire idea behind these channels is to copy primitive man and film yourself doing it. what makes it impressive is not "who did what first", it's "look what humans can do with a little know how, a little ingenuity, and a willingness to experiment and fail over and over till you get it right. we don't complain about how "apple and android are just copying the bell telephone company" (the bell telephone company [aka AT&T] was the first phone company) or that "binging with babish is just copying food wishes" just enjoy what they do for what they do. not for who did it first.

The craftsmanship is pretty good as usual, but I'm skeptical about the bow and arrows' design direction. I'm more used to thicker arrows and longer bows, and I'm not sure if that's good for taking down anything bigger than rodents, small fish and pheasants.

Thank you very much my friend for making this bow and its arrows made of bamboo. I was curious to see your technic because i like the way you work with bamboos and other vegetal materials. I also live in a wild area in south France close to spain. we have big bamboos along one of our rivers, and we have big forests where I live. we can use your technics here but with other types plants. I like your back pack, i like your axe.

With primitive bows, at least some I am familiar with, it is important that you slowly warm up the bow before shooting to allow the bow to be pulled without the bow breaking, like in a greenstick break or worse. Even my primitive bow made from Osage Orange wood, I must allow the wood fibers to warm some in the sun, the slowly pull the bow to warm to get it to full draw. Do you have to use this kind of care when preparing to shoot a bamboo bow?

even if he has a style just like "primitive technology", at least there is more videos to watch. When something works very well, then people tend to do stuff just like it, hence why there is lots of companies that make jeans, vehicles, tools, everything!. This is like complaining about there being other stores like Walmart. Competition always will make things better. These people are all just on a high horse about primitive technology's channel when if the small amount of people who come here to complain did not exist it really would not effect the original channel in any important way. You can't monopolize entertainment of this kind. There is no real brand or anything to copy. Anybody can go out and do this stuff/record for fun. I love primitive technology, but I don't see anything actually wrong with this channel. Even if this is a copy he does the things he makes well and that's all that really matters. Nothing wrong with competition.

I bought some bamboo online and followed this video to make a bow and arrow so thank you very much for the easy to follow video. I didn't do everything like you though. I used cotton string for my bowstring and I haven't added wings to my arrow. I'd like to try using plant matter for these next time I'm in the woods. I used a hand axe and a chisel as my tools. The bow I made is a bit short for me. I used a one metre long bamboo trunk. I'm 1.8 metres tall. I'm going to buy a two metre long bamboo trunk next time and I'll cut it down to 1.5 metres; I think that will be more suitable. My small bow and arrow so far has killed many cardboard boxes and made a decent hole in my hat.

Awesome, i've done some Boyer work here in the U.S. so i've primarily worked with hard woods. How about making a Long Bow out of Bamboo? It doesn't have to be 6 foot tall, just as tall as the user, making a bow longer also provides a stronger pull with the same thickness. P.S. You may want to use thicker arrows, if you use those skinny arrows on a good 50 pound Long Bow, they split down the middle from the force.
