Primitive Skills: How To Build a Bed, Making a comfortable wooden bed with rudimentary tools
This is the 2nd set of furniture after the desk. A spacious, sturdy bed made of the best woods I can choose. Some main tools such as axes, homemade saws, hand planers, knives, chisels, .. all of these tools are made by my own hands. You can see details in the previous videos by following the link below.
The marking rope that I use here is made from the time I building the house, you can also detail it at the link I left below.

My friend, I follow your channel since your first days three years ago, which is now a pretty long time here on YT. And you have done a lot since that day. Your new house is amazing, even unfinished. But why don't you create a fireplace inside of it? Place for a stove would be in near of your new bed and of course you need a smoke extraction. Inside that stove you could make a larger fire which could warm your inner homeplace while it is cold outside. (and keep you warm while you rest) Also would it be an good idea to create shutters for your windows and a door. So you could hold the warm air longer inside your house. Best wishes to you and your wife, Stay healthy and safe.

Wow, he made a wooden bed with all tools he already made. Um he needs a loom for making some textiles, and needs to find rubber trees for making rubber shoes. As a metallurgy major, his skill was really impressed. Actually he just added iron ore power and some charcoal, but some more materials be needed. However, he's very handy. Also, he's very knowledgeable, especially rice farming. I think this is the best channel amongst all primitive or survival skill related channels. I hate making pools and making another one. One pool is enough. Actually we don't need that kind of stuff if we live alone. He knows how to farm, so I'm waiting his hunting tech with reasonable preps. Also, I want to see his residence updated. Most primitive channels just showed making a house, but they are not real residences. I really respect this young man, and hope to see civilization by his own efforts. I really admire his sensitive hand-working skills, having knowledge, and making a lot of tools from nature. I'm still suspicious of his smelting because he should find really good iron-ore mine, high quality charcoal for high yield, though. One guy who has over 10M subscribers tried to smelt iron, but he only got a few grams of iron, that's normal in wild life.

A Handsome Bed Indeed !!! Warmth and pride flow from it as well. Comfort instilled into its fibers from skilled hands . Not found many places now..even the Amish here are using screws to hold their machined furniture together..and the pieces are splintering apart from the screws..as well as coming undone because the screws allow movements in joints that need to be solid constantly...and so the olde ways are fast becoming something rare.

Those are great mortise and tenon joints!! Well fitted and quite tight by the look of them, especially since you're using hand forged primitive chisels!! You should try to file down those cold shuts you have on the chisel you were using. They cause a weakness and eventually metal fatigue, just a pointer from someone who knows!!

@@Exiledk : Yes. Yes it has caused weather patterns to shift all over the world. The fact that it is cold where it shouldn't be, means things are really screwed up !! Things that can't pick up their "roots" and migrate, will die. Then, what will the locals eat ?! You and/or your food ?!

All along I thought he is a China Chinese. Good that he is Viet, so at least the CCP won't destroy his house and farm like what they did to their citizens.

You should consider making a froe, it allows you to efficiently split trees along the grain. Makes it a lot easier to make planks.

Don't know how much money from KZbin your channel has made over the years but do think it's about time you got a new blue shirt. Seems that you've worn this shirt for many months, or years. Keep up the 'pure' work you do - it's all very interesting and must be satisfying to you.
