I learned a lot. Pretty easy fish trap requiring only tools provided by nature. Nice. I always thought of you as the second coming of Les Stroud and was extremely disappointed when your medical condition prevented you from participating in a Discovery show. Maybe it's still possible. I certainly hope so. You've got the chops.

Hi ya Bob! It amazing and fascinating how quickly a creek can turn n to a river, a calm river n to a raging/dangerous river. I’ve not seen anyone show this way of trapping bait, would not have known it if not for u, this way is easy and effective, very handy to know if I haven’t any nets/traps. Ur much appreciated for the knowledge u have and share with us. Thank u

Man... brings back memories. I did this as a kid...found a lot of "water dogs", while moving rocks, which I then caught many Bass with! The bass were spawning and would not hit anything else, they were very aggressive towards the waterdogs though.

Truly, for legal reasons this trap would have to be considered a crawfish trap in my state. I am not legally allowed to harvest fish from sucha trap, excepting crawfish and the occasional invasive. Tese traps should only be used in survival situations or to demonstrate historic trapping methods for educational purposes. Too ecologically distributive for most waterways. Fish on my friend, but make sure you do it responsibly and legally.

You have a lot of good opportunities for fishing demos on that creek, even during high water levels. Does that creek flow through your property? Thanks for a great video Bob.
@skyym36298 жыл бұрын
I understand the disclaimer about screwing with the natural flow of the ecosystem. That being said, you could pretty much dam any part of that little creek or reroute it to whatever way you wish and I don't think you're gonna hurt anything at all. You said that it was over 20 feet deep just months earlier. Mother nature has a way with wiping the slate clean and starting over fresh when it want's to. Thanks for the video. Thumbs up
@wolfie4988 жыл бұрын
How about a bit of string/rope with net attached? A lot less stones needed and very small and rucksackable. Just a thought, you would need a couple of twigs maybe. Love this :)
@BobHansler8 жыл бұрын
The concept is sound, but securing such a rig so that there is absolutely no exit gets a bit tricky... that and making sure that you've the ideal materials to make such a contraption work. The stones took less than 10 minutes to fashion and when the flood came up, I lost nothing. There is a variation for waterfalls where you can suspend a net under the falling water though. That definitely works.
