I didn't expect to make a video here, I was just canoeing in Vermont over Easter with my girlfriend, Sarah. One thing led to another and before I knew it we were catching Walleyes, building primitive spears, and catching our dinners with them! Such a beautiful time.

I grew up in Michigan, sucker fish get a bad rap, but are good eating. There are literally millions of them in the Great Lakes. A huge food source. Great video. Been watching your videos a lot lately. Love that you pray before every meal.

Zach, I love your big adventures, but there is a quality with the home adventures that isn’t in the others. It’s clear you’re really at home. It’s so nice. The gf is adorable. Same one from church? And you’ve lost like a ton of weight! Good for you. As for walleye, I’m from Montreal, and fished lake Champlain in NY and it’s tributaries for decades. We used to catch them just off from the cottage, but when the zebra mussels moved in, they disappeared. Never thought about eating suckers. Maybe I’ll try one someday.

This brings back good memories of my wife and I when we use to go on alot of fishing trips with just ash tray money. But since she got hit with Rheumatoid arthritis she can not go like we used to. We did alot of fishing in the rocky mountains near Waterton park near our reservation. I watched most of all your videos and most Greg Ovens as well, who knows maybe I just might bump into Greg some where in the mountains. Keep the excellent videos coming.

Ate many walleyes in the 1960s as a kid in Vermont caught on the Connecticut river . Fond memories of that with a family friend named Walt great times swimming fishing and water skiing

Suckers are great for making fish cakes. Use a grinder to grind the fish, add in either fish flakes or potato flakes, salt, pepper, and paprika then form into cakes and throw them into the pan with a little oil.
