Haha this comment made me laugh! 1. He broke off the leaves because it's the easiest way to collect the ants instead of plucking off one at a time 2. The leaves were later removed from the water after rinsing off the ants 3. The ants kinda clump together in the water so he could easily remove them in big batches from the water with his hands! 4. I don't think they turned into mush o just think the ant legs are stuck together forming a mush looking blob! Great questions! I håpe this helped! :D

You don’t need to cook ants. You can eat them raw. It survival food. It’s a bit tart. It doesn’t taste good with scaly texture? Usually it contains eggs in the nests as well which you can kind of see the white dots in the pile. The eggs are more palatable.
