The coffin ships is an exceptionally special song, the riffs in this song are the most emotional I’ve yet to hear, even if it had no brilliant lyrics or the most mournful vocals ever recorded it would still be a timelessly legendary track. Thanks for writing it!

Great play through and a brief tragic lesson in history.

Great piece of information, thank you! I'd love to see all these statues and tombstones myself - I knew this is a remarkable tragic period in Irish history, yet had no idea it's so well remembered.

Very cool to see Ciaran, since he doesn't pop up very often in interviews.

Aside every single aspect being great of this particular video, I can hear your guitars crystal clear from the right channel. Now I understand better why Primordial sounds even better live. You're all devoted to your aspiring job. Well done, again. Congratulations and regards 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻♥️

Thank you, thank you, thank you, my favourite song, my father was from Skibereen, so very poignant. I think everyone should be made to watch this video daily, as a reminder of how not to treat your fellow man.

After hearing this song I travelled to Ireland, visiting Cobh etc. to further explore the background. Still gives me the shivers to hear that amazing song. Thank you!

Excellent vid Ciaran, you are really good at these! You also gave me a few ideas of places to visit the next time I am in Ireland, so thanks for that! Do you offer tour guide services? lol

This is incredible. Really useful playthrough but a great performance too! You totally give it some welly. I'd figured out bits by ear but to see all the harmonies and stuff, and see it played properly, is great. Thank you!

Never realised how much of the lyrics came from that monument, I had thought it was just the "oh god, that bread should be so dear and human flesh so cheap" part.

On the riff that begin's at 13.27, I can't do the 6 fret stretch for the first section of that riff. So what I do is start the riff on the third string on fret 2 (barring the second fret) instead of the fourth string on fret 7.

Thank you for this video! Would you recommend some literature of the topic for those who want to learn more about the famine? Also thank you for showing those memorials - and the sources of some intertexts in the lyrics.

Very educated man and great player. To get doom metal sounding so good in standard tuning is mad hard. Assumed it was in drop C or similar. Respect.
