🤣🤣 Roglic talking about his team mates like every group ride with your social club… “we got nothing else to do so we pull.”

I laughed too but you gotta imagine his team went into the vuelta thinking they'd need to pull almost everyday to control and defend the red jersey. These guys are still fresh so I'm curious to see the pacing tomorrow, it's likely to be infernal.

If/when Roglic goes on to win this Vuelta, this may be seen as a masterclass from Red Bull/Bora. They probably did not want to give O'Connor so much time early in the race, but ever since that point, Bora/Roglic has done everything right. They have been patient, realized they did not need to win every stage and they took time when the opportunities came up. Very impressive by the entire Bora team. Additionally, the fact that it was just announced that Bora is brining Dan Bingham on board signals to me that they have the resources to try and establish themselves as a dominant GC team going forward. It will be interesting to watch this play out of the next few seasons.

Best to kick back and let a 2nd tier gc rider and team try to control the race. It's made for the breakaway to win giving young riders like castrillo a chance to shine. Bora would have been content with O'Connor leading as gall would have been viewed as the bigger threat to reel in. It's made for the best gt of the year

Only a team with a big sponsor as a financial backup can do a strategy like that. For other teams every single day in red or any jersey is cash in the bank for next season and additional uci points.

Yep, Nadal at Roland, its natural its like fåscim and spain.. you cant control it... its fundamental.. its in the core... nature same with antisemtism & spain, its like history just repeats itself.. I enjoyed Tourde france, legend and now I also see this Toyur of Spain.. I see dhimmi håting at every single stage in this tour of spain... even hamas banners for t-groups.. what the hell.... in sport?? and the whole stages are flooded in palestone banners, so as I cyclingentusiast I had to check all the Palestine riders that are riding in this tour of spain?? and how well they do, as so many are cheering for those riders.. I couldn't find even one.. what?? they aint there, why is they the most popular rider then, if there ain't any? are spain again turning into this radical political cezzstpool, where antisemism and facism are your main benefit to the world? why are spain turning something innocent like cycling/sport into a political antisemitism fanatic show, where even banners saluting t3rrørgroups?? Its such a weird society. nevermind just looked up spain and antisemitism.. its extreme a lot of articles from professors talking about the issues...almost like Spanish people wants their sharia back.. fair enough.. I get that... your choice, your "new" country..

I like the Vuelta better than the Giro or the Tour. At the Giro everything is somehow still in preparation and more reserved, plus the shortening of the queen stages in the last couple of years, at the Tour everything is controlled by UAE, Visma and the sprinter team, almost hardly any action as far as breakaway groups are concerned... except for the first stage this tour. The Vuelta, on the other hand, is kind of pure chaos and I love it. The GC favorites let groups go and more or less only worry about themselves and do their own thing, regardless of whether they absolutely have to win stages or not. So at the Vuelta, break groups always have a chance, there is action from start to finish. Bravo.

Love Roglic, he's the man, but he's past it for the TDF, he had that huge chance 4 years ago and threw it away gifting it to Pog, now it's too late. Vuelta or Giro are still more doable for Primoz, but not the TDF, Vinge and Pog are too strong, and he's too old. Not to mention the absurd mixture of bad luck and mistakes Roglic suffered at the TDF recently, that race seems cursed for him.

Too many variables have changed to make that inference. No doubt it was a team decision, under duress to follow through with the status quo since Kuss held it for so many days. The team won but feelings were hurt. Roglic did what he felt was right and changed teams. Teddy also put a good face on the decision and Kuss was rewarded for many years of service and for getting and holding the red jersey. I don't see anything wrong anywhere after the dust settled on the season.

On the other hand, Carapaz often blows up early in the tours and then climbs his way up in GC or make stages single stages exciting like on last dF.

Imo Mas is on the wrong team, but tbh yet idk a team that he'd fit in as a GC guy... UAE, Visma, BORA they all good already, even with top #2 guys. So Mas probably is on the right team, but they constantly make to wrong decisions. In Valverde's time, Movistar was able to shine, but that was just because of him and not the team - he more or less made the decisions. As a GC contender on a grand tour, he was never in question and the decisions Movistar made there for other riders were consistently a disaster.

that ben o'connor is a good bloke but he should have never been in this position. though we did see similar anomaly last year. and that begs the question: if ben o'connor had a premier team with top helpers, could he have kept the jersey? well last year remco gave up on the jersey so there was danger for sepp. now does bora take it defensive tomorrow and control the GC guys or do they do something similar to what they did today? this is knowing that nobody will be able to take 2 minutes on roglic in 25km flat TT.

Kuss has been OK. He is a similar climber to O'connor, Vlasov, Thomas etc. they would rather longer days with more climbing to get their big diesel engines going at their best... the Vuelta this year has had plenty of stages with a 20 minute explosive climb at the end after a fairly flat day which doesn't suit their characteristics

Its a rough year for hin. Absolute peak last year, this year full of crashes and injuries and probably mentally decompression from last year. I hope he can return to last years form next year.

high sugar + high cadence + rides to power to reduce fatigue metabolites.... Have a guess whose youtube vids Roglic was watching for tips as he came up thru the ranks from cat 5 to GC winner. Ben is a brawler for sure. But on a climb like this is is better to let the lighter guys go and just ride at his own watts so he doesnt over load fatigue metabolites more than needed.

But eurosport is most of all an tv-station. Not an YT channel. I mean on eurosport i can see every race this year, while on lantern rpuge I get the best recaps. Its perfectly fine. Im not going to bash eurosport for giving me cycling on tele the entire year.
