only a drummer can appreciate how smooth that first change from matched to traditional was. it's so unnecessary yet so cool. had me almost out of my seat dude lol

This made my day, thanks for watching and enjoying man !!!!!! Yeah the switching is something I don’t think of as it’s usually if I’m gonna go for a fill that’s more like ‘weckl’ or Vinnie (in my best attempt lol ), trad brings it out of me. But with matched, I maybe feel more like I could chase gospel type fills, cause I guess it’s what guys I admire in that genre use hehe. thanks so much for such a cool comment

@@bdoug5316 haha well of late I’ve def been more obsessed about the gym than most thugs lately ! A lot of the time I’m teaching in the week and that’s all good for training and drumming. Hell yeah Issah!!
@johnpayne94375 күн бұрын
You ALREADY got the POWER and the chops, the ONLY thing I would suggest is just work on keeping it simple and locking down the groove more in the pocket. If you haven't already, listen to DENNIS CHAMBERS of P-FUNK who would be a good example of the "pocket" I'm talking about. Being a bass player myself who started on drums I KNOW that's what Primus is looking for. You are there man !!
@issahcontractor5 күн бұрын
@@johnpayne9437 yeah maybe a bit too many chops eh? I felt that too……I wasn’t sure if the improv bit should be just demonstrating creativity and then when I hit the song that I did in the middle, play for the song……but yeah I agree, should have layed down a foundation for a bit longer before starting to solo. Oh well……and love Chambers with P Funk and everything he’s done. I was actually playing a dance gig the two nights before, so I think when I got to studio to do the session, I just wanted to go the other direction. But totally agree….should have stuck it and then started to improv. Live and learn …..thanks for the comment

Power drummer!.. For sure. Watch those skins ,they're not cheap.!.. haha I'm not here to ad ad hominem you man, I thought it was awesome. And I think it is a pretty shitty thing to do.,A low blow even. Anyone can pick on someone. Just as easily as they can kick someone in the balls ,doesn't say anything other that that it is the ultimate cheap shot. And you are running a grade four mental game. And they don't have much to offer themselves as an adult ... 'No Good' Anyway sweet work man ,I like your style. Both inner and outer hand playing on the drums, Your unique hand style on the bass.. That was 'All Good' And good luck with the audition. :D

Awwww thanks !!!!! I’m those were wise words :) yah I use to be really affected by KZbin comments in my 20s! I had a channel that was doing really well, but deleted it because of a lack of thick skin. I’m 40 now and realize that I should never have let some anonymous opinion get to me. So yeah, no worries! Ad hominems welcome at this age cause at the end of the day, I feel that I’m able to take care of my wife and keep food in fridge/lights on through playing drums/bass. So in the end, no matter what some one says, I’m living my dream :) thanks for the wisdom and compliments

@issahcontractor6 күн бұрын
Hey ! Thanks so much for the comment and concern. Yeah my cardio is not great, but I honestly am huffing and puffing cause this was my second take and I just went right into it. That being said, I really appreciate your concern, and I think everyone who I talk to knows that I’d never claim to be natty hehe. I’m 41 now and at age 38, had some really low T levels. Sort of coencuded with my mom/best pal passing from a brain disease. Anyhow, I supplement with T, and maybe more than the recommended TRT doses during a bulk. But my cardio is horrible now due to being at the end of a bulk cycle. I started this bulk in July at 175lbvs and am 210lbs. And obviously it’s not all lean tissue. Just water, minerals, glycogen etc……anyhow, once I cut starting in Feb, my cardio always comes back and I’m not out of breath ever. It’s just with the extra water and mineral weight, it makes cardio harder, as it’s not like being 210 lean tissue. It’s like….fluff weight lol but hopefully I out on 5-7 pounds since July:) Anyhow, thank you so much and I agree…..when I’m at my fighting weight, I’m much more limber.
