not the reason he I started playing bass, but he's definitely the reason I learned how to slap/pop, and so was also a gateway into a whole bunch of genres I had never considered prior to that (funk, prog, jazz, etc- I was a pretty strictly alt/metal guy before getting into Primus, which led to learning to how to play slap/pop style, which lead to checking out these other genres I never followed before that)

Les has said that this is his least favorite album because the guys in the band weren't really getting along, but this was the album that introduced me to the band after seeing them at Ozzfest in 1999. Personally I love this album. It doesn't have the same sort of wacky vibes as previous albums, but it's still damn good.

I was doing lights for the Gathering of the Vibes in 2000, Les was onstage before getting his gear set while the band on the 1st stage was finishing up, so I walked up to him, shook his hand and said, Les, just wanted to say your other band sucks"...he looked at me puzzled, smiled, and said thanks!

It is Brain. Tim left in '96, after Tales From the Punchbowl. Brain played on the next 3 albums, and then Tim re-joined '03.

I thought Brown was their least favored? Oh well. I love all of them. Frizzle Fry and Antipop are my favorites, though. I hope one day Brain rejoins Primus and they tour again and play a bunch of Brown and Antipop songs. I love Tim, don't get me wrong, I saw them in Fort Worth, and they played Shake Hands With Beef and it kicked my ass all over that theatre!

Green Naugahyde drops right back into the thick of it, which is fuckin' choice, but Antipop is SPECIAL, and folks will realize this even more as time goes on. Sick!

Great album for sure, this to me has the funny wackiness that he does in seas of cheese in this antipop song. A lot of songs are underrated as most don't know Primus the way they should.

obviously every Primus album is full of great bass riffs, but Anti-Pop was PARTICULARLY good. This song may be my favorite Primus bass-line period (up there with Tommy, at any rate), and Lacquer Head is really close behind.

there is NO one who can "sing" the way claypool does it! it's nothing like i have ever heard before! brand new.. i love them.. they were the reason i got back into music after 4 years of not playing at all, i heard them for the first time in my life, the next day i went to the music store got a bass guitar and started playing again... i plied drums and keybord before! now i play ONLY BASS!!!

Ummm... they've toured a couple times in the past few years. They did a tour performing Frizzlefry and Seas of Cheese in '03 and '04 and then they came back around to do Pork Soda and Tales From the Punchbowl later in '04. They also released a DVD/mini called "Animals Should Not Try to Act Like People" in '02 (?) So yeah... they're takin a break again...
