Fish on! I once met Les and asked him if he wanted to go fishing. He responded," I've got places to go & people to see". I'd like to think if he didn't have a show the next night, he would've been down. & I would've showed him that even the fish are bigger in Texas. Primus sucks!

Yes, Todd did write that part. There’s live recordings of it from 1987.

Yup, Todd created most of the guitar parts on the Frizzle Fry album, but from what I've read, Ler tweaked and modified them when it came time to record the album, so he made a lot of them his own.

The sound of the songs does change, as does the pacing and speed and whatnot, but the awesomeness stays in tact! ..and yes, I've seen Primus live three times in my day. Fucking awesome.

I feel like bands where the bass stands out, people who don't know them always think it's a 5 or 6 person band. Idk how many times I've heard people who never heard of Primus, & especially Rush, & were shocked when they found out it was 3 people.

primus really is amazing, the music is fantastic but also their lyrics are crazy, which i think not too many people notice because their mind is being blown by the instrumental genius of the band, but all their songs sound like they dont mean anything, but if u sit there and think about it they have deeep meaning.. blew my mind

Yup, took me years to actually really listen to the lyrics. Yes, they are actually good and WAY above average for somewhat well-known bands. And I love the way Les paints the overall story of his world; the dystopian comedy of 1980s and 1990s N.E. Bay Area....pretty accurate, I remember it

I saw them live 3 times and Les solo once. So funny when they were playing the early stuff that some college kids near me had NO IDEA what they were playing (Burlington, VT). Way to semi-know the band! (rolling eyes)

Dude, The Claypool Lennon Delirium is so fuckin good! "Monolith of Phobos" and "South of Reality" are both amazing albums. They also have a covers album called "Lime and Limpid Green" that's super good too.

@scroobly I've been playing for 7 years and I still have a hard time coming up with stuff like what he does (given that I'm still playing on my first bass, a Mexican Fender Jazz with terrible action) Then again, I mostly use a pick, and only started slap, pop, rake, and finger style about a year ago

Brain is your answer to why they don't perform the 'YYZ' intro with 'To Defy'? Uh, I've seen Primus live, and Brain played the YYZ intro with John the Fisherman, but I've NEVER seen them do it with 'To Defy' even though that is how it is packaged in their greatest hits thing 'They Can't All Be Zingers.'
