Larry Lalonde may be my favourite electric guitar player. So under rated imo he has his own completely unique style and sound
@joegibson6041 Жыл бұрын
I don’t know anyone who underrated him, but I agree he is totally awesome. One of the most intricate and subtle players who simply weaves his way in and out of Claypool’s thunder. I’ve seen him about 25 times. He is the protege of Joe Satriani. I have not listened to him much, but that’s a fun fact you may or may not know. Also, Ler was first rock famous in the band Possessed. I heard Les ask him once where his assless chaps were, referring to his metal days. 😅
@Dhakadice Жыл бұрын
I'd say he's more under-used than underrated. (But then again, I wouldn't say that either. He really does just the right amount. :) )

@@joegibson6041 Larry is definitely underrated. Unless they’re a known Primus fan, I’ve never heard anyone put him up there with the best.

He came into a smaller band bar 20+ years ago in Little Five Points Atlanta I was at to watch a kid that was opening for him the next night and I stood beside him for a small while... Was awesome that this reminded me of that.

the guy who looks like he's working really hard in the band that historically makes it look easy. Like someone trying to keep up with jazz legends when they've never played jazz. not an enviable position but never seemed to fit in. There are videos where Les and Lar seem visibly annoyed. great drummer. Wrong band. imho
