Les lives in my hometown and I have met him a hand-full of times since I was 13 (the first time I met him I was a young kid in a full Boy Scout uniform). He is indeed the nicest and most down-to-earth musical genius you could hope to meet. I went to his wine tasting room and he was randomly there, he signed a poster for me on the spot. Les, we love you.

Les Claypool is one of the reasons I picked my bass back up in the first place after a year of switching guitar. So hell ya they are influential. Among other things of course hehehe (I love that beaver)
