Les is a cool down-to-earth guy. I was at a concert (I think it was Medeski, Martin and Wood) in San Francisco in the early 90s and I had been standing right next to Les in the audience for a long time before I finally realized it.

FLyfishing is neither expensive or hard to learn. You can get a Cabela's Three forks 5 or 6 weight fly rod for $34.99 on sale. You can get their wind river fly reel for $19.00 on sale. This is a great rod/reel combo. I have it in 6wt and 8wt set up with fast sinking lines for my deep water flyfishing on lakes. I have plenty of high end high dollar stuff but you can catch just as many fish on the less expensive rod/reels it makes no real difference as far as catching that is up to your skills.

Walter B hemo's are short for hemostats, normally used in the medical field to hold anything firmly without damage. People such as Les back in the day would use hemo's to hold doobies(rolled marijuana cigarettes) so their fingers wouldn't get burned when it got down to the roach(the end of a burning doobie).
