This is an Omnlilite and not an Omnifuel, isn´t it?

Definitely quieter, but does it affect performance? I know that stove is wicked hot in the original set up. How about with the silencer?

Thanks for posting. I'm thinking about purchasing the OmniLite Ti Kit with Silencer too. Is it still the best quiet multi fuel stove at altitude?

Is the Omnilite Ti worth it man? It's the only stove I can find at MEC, and I have a credit too. What do you think? I can get the package with a silencer ;)
@haphaeu4 жыл бұрын
Depends what you want. Multifuel is worth for me, both for an easy camp with gas available, also also longer expeditions where liquid fuel is mandatory. Also for the longer expeditions, lightweight is important. So this one fits exactly those criteria.

So how much does the silencer weigh? Does it ruin the advantage of purchasing titanium?
@bananielx34 жыл бұрын
The silencer is about 50g heavier than the open flame-unit.

The one from quietstove.com actually works better because it does both kerosene’s and white gas.

Does Primus make a stove that is already quiet? Without having to buy a silencer for it? I may entertain the idea of a liquid fuel or canister type stove that I know will be reasonably quiet. For now, alcohol is worth the longer boil time to enjoy the quiet. Thanks for sharing.
@dag_larsson4 жыл бұрын
Yes, they do make gas stoves. That you can mod to use with liquid fuels. If you are doing an expedition and can't rely on gas canisters being available. They don't make multifuel stoves that already have the silencer. I imagine this is due to the fact that you can only use petrol or chemical petrol with the silencer. That defeats the idea of having a multifuel stove. If what you are after is only a quiet stove I suggest you use a gas stove. It's quiet, simpler and less complicated in design than a multifuel stove. Though it will never be as quiet as alcohol burners, but gas gives less soot due to cleaner combustion.

The silencer shall not be used with diesel and similar fuel, so somehow selling that thing separately is justified.

I bought the Gravity stove from Primus years ago, not sure if it's still available. It's a fantastic quiet stove that comes with three jets, one for Kerosene, one for Coleman fuel and I believe the third was for propane. Haven't used it in awhile but I remember it working very well for me on K1 kerosene.

Is the flame always that yellow? Looks like it doesn't burn clean at all being that yellow

Haven't used it in a while, but as I remember, it is more yellow than without the silencer.

Thing is way too loud without that silencer. They should provide it and it shouldn't be an add-on.

Yes it simmers well. The burner works as normal, only much quieter. I have only used the burner with 95 octane gas and I fill up the Primus tank when I fill up the motorcycle.
